No points when other player leaves the game

I am a little irritated right now because in 1v1 multiplayer mode, I sometimes begin to win, the other player leaves the game, and the service takes me back to the score screen where I find out that my whole game has not counted as a win and I have earned no points. Why does this happen? It's not fair to me to sit down for 45 minutes and play, only to earn no points and not get a win when I deserve one. Any answers?

Sometimes it takes a while (in fact, this happens often), have you waited? takes a few minutes at most.

 

No like it doesn't happen at all, no points, no win, no nothing, it's happened to me at least a dozen games

 

In starcraft 2 it is polite/rational to always leave when you know you cannot win (and say gg). Thus you will have gotten the points unless its a server issue (unlikely since even though it's laggy this isn't reported often) or your in practise league.
