    Oh.... i think the Merc Haven looked too much like a bar anyways..... but it was probably supposed to look like that LOL

    I dont really think that reapers would need a seperate building anyways, unless blizzard was planning on realesing ANOTHER infantry unit....

    :O wait... is the tech lab (add-on) gonna allow building of reapers and medics,, if so, i dun think we're gonna get the acadamy bak... :'(

    Oh noes! Bring the bar back! How am I supposed to make beer jokes in Starcraft now, without a bar?!

    I think he might have made a mistake, just like that guy that said "the Archon needed now only 2 templars as opposed to in SC1 that needed 3" (?!). They can make mistakes, can't they? But anyway, I suppose they could find a way to make reapers from the barracks, but won't producing other units get in the way of its fast-recruiting??

    that why you have the reactor add-on. And another thing, i think they should also remove the munition depo as well.

    But there goes one less unit to be made by the terrans at same time. The best thing about terrans is that they share their production between many buildings, and this way they keep a fast income of a diverse army. Each tech they get they increase their producing buildings as well. They also have the weakest units (lower HP per cash), but they could now compensate this by spamming them with the Reactor. Not to mention it is quite redundant that Reapers be made in a reactor-holding building.

    And one more thing: even if Reapers can now be made at Barracks, that doesn't clear the need for a Merc Haven to enable their production. There's no way that they're gonna make Reapers available at same time as Marines. So Merc Haven might still be there, nevertheless. This could be nothing more than a nerfing of the Terran production.

    EDIT: However, if we look at the possibility of a Reaper-rush... ! ::)

    Nah, a Reaper rush would kick ass! They're good as possible counter to a rush and at the same time they could rush another player. Making them available at Barracks without a Merc Haven would rock. It would change completely the lack of diversity in early Terran games. I'm amazed!

    Just to remind you guys a reaper rush is practially impossible right now. As it stands right now (unless it changed but I havent heard it) there is a cooldown on reapers. You can build up to 5 of them but after that you must wait a few minutes before building them again. This effictely kills reaper rushes unless you build many barracks but they would take alot of time and by than it probably wouldnt be a rush any more.

    i think they took out the merc heaven because reapers rush was IMBA

    Well, if they took away the Merc Haven then they made Reaper rushes possible.

    Reapers take time to load, but once loaded up until 5, you can buy them at 2 secs apart from each other. 4 Reapers is more than enough to catch the enemy workers off guard. Rushes ain't supposed to be first attacks, they're meant to be pre-first clashes.

    A rush is an attack before the enemy has settled defenses properly. Why need more? Just speed-build one Barracks, gather up money and make 4 Reapers when they're ready. Crossing the terrain will enable them to get to the enemy base faster than any other. If Reapers weren't so frail I would call it IMBA too. But falling to a rush means you have failed to take necessary precautions. All rushes can be avoided.

    I never liked the Merc Haven. I think it was just stupid to let the Terrans most dangerous criminals go into a bar and hang around as they wish. This also diversifies very much Terran starting strategies.

    I thought Merc Havens were sort of out of place. You have all these nuclear silos and barracks and stuff and a hologram night elf pops out of nowhere.

    Nate and Itza "invented" the prison.. a much better idea. A prison would be less out of place than a dancing night elf.

    No Merc Haven is a good one, i thought it was out of place and you have this and you have that, it basically never ends, so this is gonna be great, we can keep the night elf holo as a doodad

    I liked the new production mechanic though. The one where you build four at a time and then there's a cooldown.

    Yep, that mechanic is really good and it is a great comeback/mass up the reapers to conquer the base ASAP
