Hello everyone. I'm the Head Referee from KOTC's NJHalo. We've decided to pick up Starcraft 2 and will be running our first event on September 25th at Velocity 17 in Maywood NJ! Sinse this is our first computer event (we specialize in console gaming) we are asking players to bring LAN boxes with a monitor or a laptop that can support the game. We will have the equipment to LAN all PCs together on site. The tournament will be MLG settings and will be 1v1 and 2v2. For more information please email me at zhehlo@gmail.com or you can add me on SC2 with the same email.

You realize that the game doesn't have LAN, and for a verson that does you need to ask blizzard?

Yes we do know that it doesn't have LAN capabilities, we're working on getting copies from blizzard but if that fails or we can't get them in time we are planning to simply connect to the internet on site and do matches online.

Heretic would still need the lan to connect many computers to the internet.

@Heretic: If you're catering for 100s of people, make sure your internet connection is good, because it will have to connect all those sockets to battlenet. The myriad data packets passing through those sockets during play could easily choke your connection, causing lag. Low ping should be better than high bandwidth.
