So I got tickets to see Nine Inch Nails in August, are there any forum-goers who like them too? Got a favorite album/song? Do you like their old stuff better or their new stuff?

I like them, but I'm not a huge fan of them. I need a special state of mind to enjoy their music, especially their new album, as it's more abstract.

    I like Sunspots and Only.

    @ hunter
they used to be sort of like industrial rock i think...but now they changed to use a little more electronic aspects in their music
i'm total trash at trying to identify bands' genres to be honest

    @ kuvasz
yeah i know what you mean, you need to be in a specific mood, or else it can be a bit heavy

Hm kinda reminds me of Korn. They are also a bit abstract nowadays.

I'm a fan. One of my friends is a huge fan and has every single song he's released. I wouldn't really call Nine Inch Nails a "they" since it's really only Trent Reznor.

true, it's really more accurate to say that I'm going to see him rather than the band

    favorite songs/albums?

They're not too bad. Unfortunately, I've heard covers for all their best songs, and the covers are better about 90% of the time. Trent's a great lyricist and has an interesting voice, but the whole package is underwhelming.

I really don't have favorites so much as songs I latch on to for a little while before I move on

Right now I like God Given (both the original and the remix), Starf*ckers, Inc., the remix of The Warning, The Line Begins to Blur, and Head Down, in addition to those ones you listed

But I also really like the slow/instrumental ones, like Zero Sum, Right Where It Belongs, Just Like You Imagined and The Four of Us Are Dying

@ Fenix - yeah I know...once you get into Muse, a lot tends to pale in comparison
