Hey all, after spending a good few weeks building my knowledge of SC by reading a hell of allot of stuff on different sites and watching hundreds of replays e.t.c. I've got to the point of being able to play Zerg pretty well, i'm just pretty much starting out so i'm sticking to one race until i know it really well and have a nice number of different build orders running out smoothly e.t.c.

One thing i've noticed is hard to find is a simple list of good counters for different enemies.

As i play Zerg i've figured out Lings get owned by zealots as zealots are melee, so a good counter is roaches and banelings, preferably with burrow, banelings burrowed and draw the zealots over them by kitting (microing) the roaches back and forth edging backwards... you get the picture

Lings are better at taking down stalkers (and also really great for econ sabotage with the speed upgrade) as stalkers are ranged, as long as you can get a swarm round them.

Now i get a little confused when it comes to Zerg vs protoss.

Thats about as much as i'm clear on. I'm not sure what unit is a good counter for, i can't remember the name of the unit, the armored mech warrior looking unit that comes into play around early mid game, tier 2, a little taller than zealots. Ranged a believe. as they're armored banelings would be a bit of a waste as they're best Vs organics, roaches seem to be a little more effective but get taken down pretty easily, so i'm feeling possibly hydras, but they're HP is so low they get rinsed quickly too.

So then i think possibly front line of roaches as 'meat shields' with the hydras in back? i've tried that and it gets frickin fiddly tryna micro 2 control groups simultaniously, especially if u got a group of lings occupying any stalkers that may be in the mix.

I feel there should be a deffinite 'counter unit' for the zerg army when facing that mech looking unit unit (name?).

Then theres the other units, shadow templars is it? the invisible ones, i know u need an overseer to spot them, but again i'm quite hazy as to any deffinite 'good strategy' in facing that situation.

I'm looking for help in learning tried and tested decent counters on a per unit basis in regards to Zerg Vs Protoss.

A simple list of 'stone beats scissors beats paper' kind of thing, just to know the basic underlying upper hand in stat terms, i'm cool with figuring out how that can be applied on a tactical basis in battle.

I'm simply trying to develop a more robust and reliable knowledge base to aid my reflex in games.

This is regarding Zerg Vs Protoss only.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
