New Swedish Scan for SC2 (Lots of interesting stuff)

I was just browsing the Blizzard forum and I found this link.
Everyone should go take a look because it contains many interesting new Terran units/buildings.

and the planetary fortress looks like a command center with a gun on top

and the viking fighter is a transformer?

and thor looks like the mechs from the matrix but more armored

Its not a fake! Suply depots looks exacly like those on the e3 screenshots, also we can see some strange barrack addon similar to the sensor...

This is crazy.  I think everything makes sense after you calm down and evaluate their impact on gameplay.

The pics they have for marine, ghost, high templar, and DT are pretty accurate, but I've never seen such close-up pics anywhere else.  And Thor is also from Norse mythology, consistant with valkyrie's name.  Viking fighter's name would also be in the same boat, but I don't really like that name personally.  Maybe just "viking" or a different name from Norse mythology.

If all of it is indeed real, which I really do believe so, then yesssss gatling guns are in woot~!!  Out of everything, I am most interested in the viking fighter by far.  It looks like goliath and valkyrie two-in-one.  Goliath was great but if it is being replaced by viking fighter and/or thor, then you won't hear me complain.

Blizz is really trying to tempt me to play Terran this time.  Watch the Terran votes shoot up in the polls.

EDIT:  Oh yea, Ych9 I love you.  Now just find me some secret Zerg goodies please.  :upset:

The supply thing is the best, it is like a gate, you submerge them and pass then get them up.If this is true Blizz owerup:
Planetary Fortress: Terran HQ can be ugraded to a Planetary Fortress. It is a HQ with alot of ****ing defense this is cool 2

Twilight: Sacrifice two DK and boom! You have the even meaner Twilight Archon. But you already knew that didnt you?

For the Terrans

Viking: Say hello to the terrans own Transformer. The Viking can switch form from fighter to mech. Conveinent if your flying and you want to avoid anti-air defenses.

Supply Depot: New in the Earthlings base: A building which can submerge so that your units can pass by. Also works like a first defenseline in your base at tier 1.

Marine: It wouldnt be Starcraft without them, they are the backbone of the terrans afterall..

Planetary Fortress: Terran HQ can be ugraded to a Planetary Fortress. It is a HQ with alot of ****ing defenses.

Thor: The Biggest new boy is called Thor and has gotten the name after the thundergod. A buddy like this can assault an enemybase well on its own.

Sensor Dome: With one of these you can see enemy units on the map, even if they are moving in undiscovered territory.

Ghost: Yeah, they are back

A unit that can assault a base all on its own eh? I wonder just what exactly does a Thor do. It's likely to be tier 3 if it's that good, that's if the original description is accurate.

Why is it called a sensor dome when it's not a "dome" at all? Should instead be called sensor spire, sensor tower, sensor rocket, sensor tall thing, sensor schlong, sensor happy stick, or sensor whatever else.

With the Thor, I don't think I'm too happy about it......It may simply turn out to be a Terran Reaver with pumped up HP and def, with the ability to attack air a bit. StarCraft isn't about massively powerful units smashing all in their way, it's about massively powerful armies smashing all in their way. Also, think it'll have the same size penalty as the Colossus? It certainly looks huge.


And remember, the translations are rough, so it might be that "dome" was only the closest word.

 

The Thor's probably the terran's new "super-ish" unit. I don't think they'll be able to blow up everything in their way, but need to be with other units to be used to their full extent. Great find btw.

Onto my thoughts about this. I don't know what to say, but I am just basically speechless after seeing all that. Blizzard really nailed the coffin in this one for the Terrans.

That transformer unit (Vikings) sounds like a kick ass unit. Especially with all the hype with the Transformer movie that is out already, I'm assuming just this unit will attract a lot of crowd into it. I wonder how it would function. The air version of it sounds like your normal Wraith fighter. The ground version is probably going to act like a Goliath perhaps like already mentioned? But I'm assuming if it acts like a Goliath, it won't have a very strong anti-air attack because it can transform into an air unit.

Planetary Fortress is way cool. It really suits the theme of the Terran, and I was actually hoping that something like that could happen for the Terrans. Looks like my hope actually came true. I wonder what that upgrade will do to help the Command Centre? How powerful will it be? Hopefully, we can get a little more detail about it at BlizzConn.

From the translation for Thor, it sounds like Terrans own version of the Mothership. It can assault a base well on its own? It sounds too much like a Mothership, and I thought Blizzard making the Mothership concept strictly for the Protoss? Maybe this will work a bit different, that you can build more than 1. On the other hand, it probably won't be as versatile as the Mothership because from the picture, it clearly shows that it is a ground unit.

Senser Dome sounds like it replaces the Comsat Station. Not much to discuss for this building.

New Supply Depot submerging to the ground really caught my attention. This could open up to lots of new strategies IMO. I wonder if the submerged building is going to be invisible. If you were attacking a Terran, would you need a detector to target the submerged Supply Depot? I guess that shall remain unseen until BlizzConn.

On the other hand, one thing I really dislike is the unit names. I really dislike the Viking and Thor name for the new units. I hope it is just a temporary name for them. Other than that, Terrans are looking soo sweet. That means, the total amount of units for the Terrans are:

1. SCV
2. Marines
3. Reapers
4. Siege Tanks
5. Ghosts
6. BattleCruisers
7. DropShips.
8. Thor
9. Vikings
10. Medics
11. Vulture like unit at E3's screenshot.

A total of 11 units. If the Terran were to have the same amount of units as the Protoss (which is 17), that means, there are still 6 unknown units.

After seeing all the new Protoss and Terran toys, the only thing I can say is a big :good: :good:
They now seem soo unique and diverse. Not to mention, both Protoss and Terran's change really make their race that much more distinctive and cooler. After seeing those 2 races with tremendous upgrades, one can only wonder what the Zergs will bring into SC2. From the PC gamer magazine podcast, the interview stated that Blizzard has something very special in stores for the Zerg. That means, if you think that the new Protoss and Terran toys are cooler than ever, wait till the Zerg is revealed. I believe that it is going to shock the world.

that being said, the viking and thor look awesome. I'm sure none of the old terran units that have not been revealed will be back but with those I really don't care.

 

why compare the thor and mothership. thor is an ant compared to the mothersip. i think it would probably be just like an ultralisk. or maybe just like the battlecruisers. ofcourse its not a superunit, the battlecruisers i think is the strongest and most powerful unit of the terran still. so maybe thor is the second best unit of the terran.

why do they kept saying that sc2 is like c&c or wc3 and that it would suck if this terrans units (specially thor) are final. i dont know the units c&c and the game play that much. but wth? what do they want? the golaiths and vultures back again or something. they should stop complaining and just play sc1 and dont buy sc2!

i think the new terran units and structures are awesome. i dont complain much about the units affecting the gameplay cause i trust blizzard and they know what they are doing. if im going to complain its more on the model or look of the units. 8)
