http://www.starcraftwire.net/blog/c...dcover-tie-in-to-blizzard-entertainments-sta/ The lore novel geek in me is fapping at the moment. But, since there's not much to discuss about this, let's talk about past novels. What books have you read and what did you think about them? Also, I guess it's notable that this book will contain a lot of StarCraft character lore so the fact that they're releasing this may mean that they believe they can have StarCraft II out by then.
Well, that sounds awesome, actually. I just picked up "I, Mengsk" haven't read it yet though. My submission for the short story contest was about this EXACT subject though...I hope the fact that they already have a novel coming out about it doesn't hurt my chances. =(
I've read Starcraft Ghost: Nova and I, Mengsk. Nova wasn't as rich with lore as I, Mengsk was. Change a few elements and it could almost have been regular sci-fi. Nova's background is kinda dull, to say the least. You also only get to see a couple years of progression. I, Mengsk covers like 20 - 30 years. And overall, I preferred the way I Mengsk was written, the way it was worded. It also included two pretty interesting cameos: Spoiler Duke and Duran I, Mengsk was filled with SC goodness. I found it quite enjoyable. Maybe it was a little dry at times but seriously, the author freaking nailed the voice of Arcturus. I always read his lines with his good old SC voice. It made me realize how much I'll miss it if the VA is changed... Reading this book totally makes you get him. Even how he could do such a thing as abandon Kerrigan.
See Gas, I understood him completely now. The scariest thing was... I almost like him now. I hope Valerian doesn't pull an Arcturus like Arcturus did with Angus. Being all defiant at first then falling right in line.
Yeah, I like Arcturus now, actually. Stupid Raynor! Why doesn't he realize the Dominion is better than the Confederacy?
Maybe what you don't read in between lines. Maybe the Dominion is just the Confederacy with another name? Personally the only starcraft bok i read was horrible. I forget the name of it, i just finished it because i wanted to learn about the starcraft universe. But all it did was go through the terran campaign in a reporters view. I really don't know why they made the starcraft campaign in a book.
Awww c'mon. Mike Liberty is a cool character. I really liked him right off the bat. And Halo did it. The Flood book was just Halo 1 really.
Mike Liberty was an alright character, but besides him and Kerrigan the book was horrible. Poorly written. Need a good book, read Altered Carbon. Off topic because its not Starcraft, but its a cyber punk setting. It was one of the best books I've read. Was sad when it ended.
re I read the first 3 original books. Liberty's crusade was good. Shadow of the Xel'Naga was the best. Speed of darkness sucked. I've also read Queen of blades. It's good. I just started reading First born.
