    Aw man...
I look at it, it sez u can transform it into siege and everything, i wouldn't be surprised if someone made a board game kinda like warhammer 40k out of this.
Id get like 6 of them with 20 marines, 5 marauders and 5 vikings ground mode.
    Aw yea

    Nice find btw
(really i might get 2 with 5 marines or something if they come out)

Apart from containing a nonexistent link, a typo, and a very bad background-text combo, the ad is nice and the model even nicer.

Welcome to the forum Aghawa, create your introduction in the appropriate board, and enjoy your stay.

probably, right now i got friend from another forum who is making a titan that has couple hundred pieces. But the only thing that gets me about piece limit for this, they must be including every single piece right down to the box itself. Because there is no way the entire tank itself has that many pieces.

  11. What the hell are you talking about? Who was harsh? No one.

Yes, the model is good. But I think it's fake. Firstly, the link doesn't work, and the blurb sounds like it was penned by someone whose first language was either French or Spanish. Particularly striking to me is: "Visit StarCraft2.com/collectable And know more!" --not even Americans speak English like that. Blizzard may be American, but they don't usually employ quaint phrasing. ''To find out more'' sounds far more typical of a native American speaker, at least to me.

Also: the model is entirely computer generated, and I find the article's layout, while acceptable, somewhat amateurish (the abrupt change in font size, among other things, suggests the work of a student). Furthermore, while I am by no means a miniatures hobbyist, most miniature models include information about the scale of the miniature, as well as a shot of the painted model. These preteritions further enforce my belief that this is a fake. And last: we all know that ''Wanna piece of me, boy?" is a line from the Marine --not the Siege Tank. Wouldn't ''Ready to roll out!'' be more appropriate?

    Nice try?

I'd love to see this artist's rendition of some other units, such as the Marine, as the artist is obviously a rare talent.

    Hi all!
Well, sorry for this *useless* topic :D
Yes, that's a fake, as all of you noticed - i made this last night and just wanted to have some fun with the untextured 3d model.
I also posted that over a Italian videogames forum and, hey, some of them actually believed it was true!
I was glad that someone of you liked that anyway :p

    @ZealotInATuxedo: Woah, what a ractional analysis :D
Yeah, my native language is Italian, i'll have to improve my English, really ^^
And yes, i should have put in at least the model scale (really forgot about that XD)
Unfortunately the "painted model" shot is unavailable, since i haven't textured the tank yet :D
About the "You want a piece of me, boy"/"Ready to roll out!" thing, i deliberately chose the first one to have more impact on the reader, as it is one of the most known starcraft quotes.

Next time, better model, nice painted-like textures, a lot better page layout, and better English!

@kuvasz: going to introduce myself soon in the right board :)

PS: Just finished the tankmode->siegemode switch animation :p
PPS: I modeled this over some concepts Blizzard has on their website - the sad thing is that the actual Crucio 3d model on the starcraft2 website doesn't seem to have been modeled over that concept, apart of the 6 "leg" setup, so mine ended up being something a lot different >=\

    Bye all ^^

So next time you hear of StarCraft Action Figures, it's a new try by him.

Your English is very good, although it doesn't yet possess the fluidity and nonchalance of the native speaker. What drew my attention to your word-usage is that the language of marketing is very particular, and very much established; naturally, anything that deviates from the norm draws attention to itself. I conveniently happen to speak French and Spanish fluently, and some of the syntax and word choices (such as action figure over miniature or model) from your descriptive blurb struck me as proper to the linguistic prejudices of a native speaker of a Latin-based language. It wasn't such a leap to think you were French or Spanish -especially when I coupled this idea with the other evidence at hand. So, you're Italian? The Italians are sly--I always forget to suspect them!

Welcome to the forums! I'd love to see more of your work (textured and baked, preferably!). Do you showcase your work on any particular website?

That's good, I only know my mother language and a little of english.
    Thanks for the welcome!
Well, as for now, i'm trying to model the SC2 terran command center...then i'll go with a protoss unit and building, and zerg unit+building - just to say "well, at least i tried" ;)
Honestly speaking, i wanted to try to do a little sc2 mockup in the near future, for example a video showcasing a "new" (not really existing in the sc2 builds) protoss/whateverRace unit...just to have some fun - i happen to have a nearly-ready rts engine in the last months - but to do that i'd need some unwrapping and texturing skills i actually DON'T have, unfortunately.
@moreWorksRequest: i don't have lots of things to showcase atm, and none of them Starcraft-related(apart of the first link) let's see what i have:
-Tank Mode/Siege Mode switch video: http://vimeo.com/4965820 (i'm actually rendering that again cause i want it to last 4 or 5 seconds)
    -aRoom: http://i42.tinypic.com/2csdy03.jpg
-one of my first renders: do you know/remember ID software's Heretic? http://i41.tinypic.com/24bqoee.jpg

I actually have more things here in my hard disk, but they're all unfinished or untextured.
If you want to dig into my Vimeo videos there are some other little works (game-related, anyways), for example there is a WIP of a steampunk-RTS game i'm currently in the process of creating.

    Anyway, next to-dos:
    -Finish the command center
    -Build a Marine
that will be all for the terran side, i think.

  20. I thought those tank models were terrible but now I know they're a fan job they're not so bad. But, before you go thinking you fooled me, just know, that I only spent three seconds looking the pictures and nothing else.
