Something I found while seaching the starcraft wikia. http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/StarCraft:_Heaven%27s_Devils Starcraft: Heaven's Devils by written by William C. Dietz. For the first time ever, discover the extraordinary backstory behind the alliance of the legendary outlaw heroes, Jim Raynor and Tychus Findlay.
If this is canon, then there should be a link somewhere to a Blizzard site that approves of it. I like non-canon for Warcraft, since it often has very little to do with the games. This is different. The book is about two characters from the period of the game. If it is non-canon, then it will not be worth reading. Novels like that only mess up the real lore imo. So if you have one, please post a link to any kind of comment from Blizzard on this.
Well the book is supposed to come out during December of this year. Which I hope is after the release of Wings of Liberty, I hope. So maybe WoL will talk about his past and the book will explain more in details.
They don't , unless I'm checking the wrong spots. Because we all know there is a 3rd dark templar saga book in the making, but no where on Blizzards site can I find any mention of it.
Oh can't wait for Spectres, but June 2010?! Still we got Ghost Academy to look forward and that sure to have some pre-spectres plot.s (And Horus Heresy novels, TWILIGHT, and Heaven's Devils to satisfied the hunger.) Ghost-kidnapping plot? That grabbed my a attention and perhaps Keith write a novel(s) for the Kel-Morian Combine and Umojan Protectorate Ghost programs. (The new programs are my suggestions for Blizzard asked at the New York Comic Con and I'll write a fanfic for them too latter)
Well, that sounds awesome, actually. I just picked up "I, Mengsk" haven't read it yet though. Has anyone here read it? What did you think? My submission for the short story contest was about this EXACT subject though...I hope the fact that they already have a novel coming out about it doesn't hurt my chances. =( They didn't announce it until after I wrote it!
I, Mengsk is quite a good book in my opinion, i liked it a lot as it kinda fleshed out Mengsk as a person as you get to see aspects of his life that was never mentioned in the game. It might get dry at times but overall i think the books is definetly worth a read.
Yeah, the book did get dry at times but that's because there were certain things that had to be explained that weren't necessarily fun to read. I look at those parts of the book as just general useful information for understand Mengsk and the StarCraft universe as it was before the game. It made waiting for the interesting parts much easier. If you haven't read that book yet I hope you go into it with that state of mind. It's actually a pretty long book because it had a lot to explain. @Aurora: The Blizzard lore guys have said that all the books are canon; even, to the extent that if there is something in them that contradicts the game then the book is considered a retcon. So, in effect, it's ultra canon.
