This is a new Q&A I found by bluereportcast.com. It's mostly stuff we all know, but there's a couple ones I haven't heard. Most interesting of all: Q: Any new information on the Nydus Worm? A: The Nydus worm can pop up anywhere.. it doesn’t have to be on creep. But it works like the ghost nuke, you place a beacon and a few seconds later it pops up. So that seems to solve all the Nydus Worm problems, although I don't remember seeing any beacons in the WWI video. Another interesting one is this: Q: Does the Soul hunters laser stay at level 3 forever? A: The Soul Hunters laser only charges up on one target, imagine the Warp Ray only on the ground.. so after you kill the unit, it resets back to level 1. This is mainly going to be used as a building killer. Get some Warp Ray and Soul Hunters and you destroy everything. Please note: I’ve been told that the Soul Hunters were taken out of the game, but I definitly had a conversation about them so they may be making a comeback. When I spoke to the Blizzard Representative he mentioned that the graphic wasn’t working properly and they were thinking of making it change colors instead of getting thicker. Keep your eyes peeled for this unit in the future. It looks like that Soul Hunters could come back. In that case, I hope they get a HUGE makeover. :-/ Anyway, here's the link. Enjoy! ;D http://bluereportcast.com/blizzcon-2007-starcraft-2-faq/
the beacon is just an indication (red spot in nuke) of where the lunch will appear, and in WWI we can't see the nydus beacon because it was a protoss user controlled. soul hunters back? remove the skateboard. and wheres the vindicator? or the badazz protoss in blizzcon artwork.
yea, it was supposed to be for starcraft ghost. it is basically a protoss marine. I think if they bring back the soul hunter then they should get rid of the warp ray. They are kind of the same unit in that they are great against buildings. although they can be effective against units... And that kinda makes sense cuz they already have two extremely powerful flying units, carrier and MS.
I don't want the soul hunter back, it dosen't fit. And by the way, anyone else see the resemblance between the nydus worms and the worms in the book "Dune"?
One thing that I got to say that definitely was pointed out in this video, is that it definitely shows how cluttered the map will be. If you watch the video about dead in the beginning, it does show the the screen will be a little bit more cluttered because of how big some of the models will be.
just hope they fix all the animation going on everywhere...cant see units under all the explosions and shit, dont go into the c&c trap..
Yeah, it gets pretty messy at times. I think Blizzard should make the animations more like COH's, in that game, even with a million explosions, it's not that hard to see all the things going on.
That soul hunter sucked. Aside from the unit idea, the graphics were crap too, it took me a lot to realize that the thing was actually a guy over a board. It didnt even have an animation that suggested that it was an organic unit. Looked more like some sort of vulture.
Yeah, the worms do kinda look like those from dune, but they are actually killable and cant eat 5 tanks in one bite.
not too shabby. You get the impression earlier that the soul hunter was anti infantry (hence takes cares of small numerous foes). Now it's a building razer ?
Soul Hunters are dark templar silversurfers i would say ^_^ given the fact that they grow stronger from absorbing the dead energies.. it would be to imba if they continue fighting like that.. and a warp ray functions the same as hunters.. maybe we just oughta say goodbye to the soul hunter or maybe just see him as a hero unit.. now that would be cool... the nydus worms are the zergs counter to the warp in ability of protoss but what about the terrans?? how will they counter the two other races being able to transfer their units faster than they can.. well anyway lets hope everything goes well for our favorite creepy race.. ^_^
The soul hunter is not a bad unit. it's not the perfect animation yes i know but the bases of the unit is mostlikly for storyline reasons. Like when the Protoss started fighting each other and you could only use Dark archons?? yeah they might have another mission like that were you fight agenst Soul hunters.
The Terrans have the drop pods called down by the ghosts, you can see it in one of these videos found at Gamespot StarCraft 2 videos. Anyway I think you can only get zerglings out of a Nydus worm, and something has to be there for you to call on it. As for the Protoss, it takes time for them to be warped in, so you could kill either the phase prism or the unit being warped in.
Terran have drop pods, but they only carry marines, which by that time aren't useful on their own or even with the support of ghosts. I think Nydus worms just load up any units i can carry, and place a beacon anywhere that's visible and pop up later.
