New Forum ranks

Is there a list of them up ? For example I'm a commander while some one else is a junior memeber. How does the new system work ?

 

Cannon Fodder 0-29
Recruit 30-79
Corporal 80-200
Commander 200-399
Hero 400-799
Legend 800-1499
Immortal 1500-2499
Admiral 2500-3999
Praetor 4000-5999
Executor 6000+

 

Executor is higher then Praetor? That doesn't make sense.

Ok to everyone who thinks Praetor should be higher than Executor why? Didn't in Sc1 You (Artanis now...) give Fenix orders? You were the Executor he was the Praetor. I think most people who believe Praetor should be high than the Executor are thinking of the Judicators (Aka the conclave I think).

Erm... You are right, I guess I was a little confused there. However, I thought that Fenix also gave the player orders in the game sometimes? I just played through the campaign again a few days ago and I have already forgotten the details. -_-'

Praetor sounds better anyway. Executor sounds like some cheap contractor guy that has to do what everybody tells him to do. Oh well, at least we have no Judicator rank at the moment, they have no might anymore. They would be a great replacement for the old Cannon Fodder rank.

I have an idea by the way. SC2forums is planning on having some kind of "preferred race option", right? Wouldn't it be cool if the ranks were effected by the race you prefer? For example:

Zerg:
broodling - zergling - hydralisk - mutalisk - guardian - overlord - overseer - queen

Protoss:
zealot - stalker - immortal - colossus - templar - archon - praetor - executor

Terran
recruit - <insert regular military ranks here> - admiral

It's like in real life. A desk guy might be a higher rank than a sergeant in the Army, but in a hostile situation, the sergeant's commands take precedence.

 

Thanks for posting this up, I was wondering why my rank went up without me posting anything. And I've been seeing all these weird ranks that you haven't explained yet like Senior member or Junior member.

 

DT_L those are ranks of people who havn't posted a post that counts tworards to their count since the new ranks have been implemented.

Forsaken trust me that idea you just suggested has been several times already. I however wouldn't hope to hard for because of the potential coding difficulties also we are trying to have ranks that aren't unit names. (Immortal doesn't count )

 

Well it's nice to have some idea of the rank system right now I'm glad we actually have a system it all looked kinda random at first.

And lord so does that mean I'm a veteran cause I posted since the new ranks were first assigned?

No it isn't all it would be is changing the text. Unit names just aren't as creative and don't make as much sense for a ranking system than actual ranks.

 

And now you are.... (You have to make a post that modifies your post count for your rank to be updated.)

 

I like those ranks Forsaken.
Although, its kinda sketchy as a Hydralisk > Mutalisk etc.
Wouldnt this work better:
Larva | <choose Drone or Broodling> | Zergling | <choose Baneling or Roach> | <choose Hydralisk or Mutalisk> | <choose Infestor or Corruptor> | <choose Swarm Guardian or Ultralisk> | Overlord | <choose Overseer or Queen> |

Probe | Zealot | <choose Stalker or Immortal> | <choose High Templar or Dark Templar> | Archon |
Protoss would be a hard one if trying to do units as you can't a Colossus, sinces its completly a mech. Their ranking system would be better
Something like that anyway, just a thought. But I do like the idea of race based ranking systems, after all this is a Sc site and Sc is bases on 3 distinct races giving more reason for something like this to be implemented.

 

Meh, I was just giving some examples in my previous post, but what you say makes sense.
By the way, will the personal titles make a comeback? For example: LordKerwyn had "fleet admiral" or something like that below his screen name, will those return and will there still be limited use for them? (You had to do something really good in the previous forum style and the admin would enable you to have one.)

Or will it be like it was when the forum was just created, when everybody had one?
(I wouldn't like that, to be honest. You have to deserve something like that.)

 

Just a thought, but I think the one who created the new rankings (the admin probably) is very fond of the Protoss.
