Hey guys, I've started commentating on some of my games, and I would like some feedback. I have one game with commentary up, im planning to do more (unless you guys think im horrible at it lol) depending on what kind of feedback I get. Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVO7HA8iUwM Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwUM8ZrcBqU Thanks in advance for feedback (whether positive or negative)
oh, I tought you were one of the tards who spammed about HDstarcraft. lucky you are not, will look into your vids later :> and welcome, welcome to the forum
It sounds like you don't like commentating by the way you're talking.. it sounds to dull, monotone and slow... but I promiss that will go away with time. Also the commentary is always "he has this" "he does that". You're telling us the things we see. You should focus on telling us the thoughts behind the moves what the units do, what you think they should do, talk about the map the possibilites, why you got the units you did.. teach us! Keep up the good work. Explain terms like "proxy" "warpgates" what do they do? 95% of the people that are watching do not have a beta themselves.
Yeah, will do when I make another one. I definitely need to work on explaining all the strategies on my next one.
talk faster and not this like 1 sec between evry word and make sum jokes maybe and explain not trying to be an ***
Sorry haha im from california we all talk pretty slow round here. I just finished my second commentary, just need to encode all three parts, then upload it to youtube etc... I didn't see that but I think I talked faster in this one haha. I tried to explain more in depth my strategies in that 2v2 game. So should be getting some more up within an hour or two for you guys.
Alright got my second video batch up on xfire, they will be going up on the starcraft2forum.org youtube as well (not sure when this will be though) Part 1: http://www.xfire.com/video/27000f/ Part 2: http://www.xfire.com/video/270083/ Part 3: http://www.xfire.com/video/27009f/
Need to talk about less about what you are doing and other people are doing at the moment, and comment more on your insight of what's going to happen, what type of builds each player is going for. As they also pointed out, it's not really the pace that matters the most, but how excited you are and how you sound when stuff happens. Most of the better commentators go crazy when huge battles occur or when dumb things happen. You need to sound excited to make the viewers feel something awesome is going to happen, or is happening. Edit: Saw some of your gameplay in second commentary, I think you know that you can call down a mule straight onto the mineral patch so you don't have to tell it to mine. Also your partner needs to learn to send scvs to repair his supply depots. He had more than ample time to highlight 4 -5 scvs at least to stall for time for marines to come out.
To be honest hes not my partner lol hes just my friend I know in real life, and he sucks balls at Starcraft 2. The majority of the time I end up carrying the team lol. As for the Mule, its just kind of a spur of the moment where I want to put it haha.
