    Can I say ew? I mean ahh just look it at. Totally rules out the sweeping damage, instead they now attack for like a second, cool down, then fire this spray. The Colossus needs to be returned to its usual state as it was best then and I'm you guys agree with me.

    I fully agree with you. And wtf is up with its left side not laying waste?! Let's have Vikings using only one of their miniguns, shall we?

    Old animation - maybe with added splash. Anything but this abomination that used to be the coolest attack around.

    Damnit, I was PM'ing him just before he told me hes leaving. Should of told him :[

    Also notice that melee attacker can still damage the Colossus if every leg isn't up the cliff. The Zerglings are damaging it while only one leg is on the ground/lifting up. Check middle left.

    I actually like it. It makes it harder to get around the colossus without taking damage. In the old form, one unit takes damage at a time and the zerg could simply swarm around it. Now at least the damage is more spread out.

    It might also be interesting if the laser show changed depending on how many units are in front of the colossus. If there's only one unit, there's one laser and all the damage. If there's two units, there's two beams and each takes 1/2 the total damage and so on.

    Also maybe, it would be interesting if you could decide if you wanted a single searing beam or a more disbursed attack. Maybe it could be an upgrade?

    Not really. Its beam did 144 which rips thru most Zerg units.

    Yeah, this was a disappointing change.

    I think the major difference that people aren't realizing with a still image is that the guns do alternate... I think. From left to right. Not the easiest thing to convey to the audience with a single still image.

    I like the idea of a single target=unified stronger attack, and multiple targets=spread out but less concetrated attack. I also wonder if it still moves around like the old animation. If I remember correctly (which I might not) didn't it used to follow the enemies? Or atleast do sweeps.

    NO i DISAGREE with you. Its first attack took to long to kill a single target and was only good agenst small units. throw one big unit in there and it would hold up the colossus attack the hole time. with its new attack its dosent have to wait. it can hit more then one target and deal its good old dmg that it needs to be doing. look at the reaver it did AOE. why cant the colossus do slash since i dont see any other protoss unit other then the freakin archon to take on mass units? this is a good upgrade and blizzard did the right thing. The only reason u dont know better is because u havent even played the game so u dont know how undergeared the onldd attacking colossus would of been agenst too many little attacks mixed with one or two tankers. blizzard made SC1 with out millions of people complaing about what they liked and disliked. i'm pritty sure they can do the same for sc2 and balance out the game so its fair.

    I dont like the animation as much as the old one, but I think that this new attack will make the colossus much more effective. The downside of the previous attack was that it didn't do what it was made for, taking out lots of ground units at a time. The colossus was designed to lay waste to a multitude of units, where as it would be vulnerable to reasonably strong units that were spaced out, but with a single beam it could rip through single units quickly, but couldn't handle a swarm of units very well because the sweeping beam would just move to the next closest unit. Now it is the way it was meant to be, with a fan of beams decimating grouped units, but a good player will know this and will space out his units, or layer them so they avoid the fan and are able to take down the colossus quickly and efficiently.

    @DE.50, are you kidding?

    The selected colossus in the demo had 17 kills after frying the lings. How is that not taking out lots of units!?

    Because the cost of producing a colossus is probably equal to producing 30+ Zerglings, and I am not even mentioning the production speed difference now.
    You have got to be kidding me. You are countering your own arguments there. You said that the Colossus was designed to take out a lot of packed units, not spread out groups of them. After that you say that it now does what it was meant to dp: taking out lots of spread units.

    Anyways, it could decimate a Zergling in about half a second in the previous form, now it has to shoot twice to take one out. How is that more effective?
