Blizzard revealed that when your units get shot from a cliff the enemy units will not reveal themselves (they will still be under fog of war unless you sent air units or something else) Your opinion about this?

Re: New cliff line of sight -> your opinion But in starcraft 1 if you got hit by a marine from a cliff you could return fire (with a little handicap that only like 70% hits), now you first need to find out where exactly the attack is from and get line of sight there.

Re: New cliff line of sight -> your opinion This may be difficult to do, but I think it would be cool if units on the edge of the cliffs could be seen and be in the line of sight, so you could return fire (with a penalty of course), but if it is a unit like a seige tank and isn't at the edge then you can't see it because you have no idea where it exactly is. This would make it possible to return fire to units at the edge, which makes sense, but not units that you wouldn't be able to see realistically.

Re: New cliff line of sight -> your opinion What about when, say, you have a Siege Tank on a cliff about 10 meters from the edge of the cliff, and a Marine that's standing adjacent to the actual cliff-face. The Tank could not possibly see the Marine from where he's standing. My point is that in Sc1, you could see units firing at you from cliffs, but the units from the cliffs didn't have very realistic sight ranges either. Now, in Sc2, units will no longer see concealed units that are firing from cliffs, but the actual cliff units need to have their sight range adjusted too, for the sake of realism. With all that in mind, the cliff-concealment issue will be balanced out. I would also like to mention that only units that fire in an arc should be able to hit from above cliffs if the enemy can't see them. Imagine that because a Marine on a cliff shoots his gun directly at the enemy, he can't position himself to be able to shoot the enemy without the enemy being able to shoot him back.
Re: New cliff line of sight -> your opinion Yeah, the siege tanks wouldn't be able to see them in RL, but lucky for them, they have a giant eye in the sky. Anyhoo, you're saying that for someone on the high ground, the FoW should hug the cliff but die further out? And I agree with the second paragraph, but I can only think of one unit that fires in an arc - Siege Tank in Seige Mode.

Re: New cliff line of sight -> your opinion The Terrans and Protoss should be able to construct something like an elevated platform that can act as cliffs. You can build bunkers and cannons and send troops up the platform to defend the base.
