You have too little RAM. You should buy more RAM.

If you've got less than 256MB Ram then you need to upgrade. Otherwise check you have enough drive space. If you do then possibly too many programs are running in the background. Check there aren't dozens of icons in the system tray (on the start bar by the clock). If there are close some of them down.

Actually even 512 is not enough for many wc3 maps

You should indeed get yourself a RAM expansion, but first you should check if you don't have to many processes running on the background which you don't need. There are for example a lot of memory consuming processes that do nothing more than make a log book entry of everything you do.

Other than that, check your computer for mallware and stuff like that. They can disguise themselves as normal windows processes, but they don't run directly from windows maps. If you shut those down forever you can spare a lot of memory to.

If you manage to turn all of the processes of that you don't need you can save up to a good 200 megabytes of RAM memory.

By the way, you have to use msconfig to permanently turn processes of.

Yeah, that kinda sucks. I bought Frozen Throne recently and now it turns out I can't play a lot of the scenario maps.

I played custom single player campaign (very well done) and the last map was just too big. Also some Blizzard-made scenarios lag on 512. There's problem with many ORPGs like Defiance and Black Road ORPG is kill.
If you're going to add RAM go for at least 1GB, even just for warcraft
