I got two computers, a laptop hp dv9700 and a custom bult desktop...

    desktop:
    512mb agp ati radeon x1300
    1791mb memory
    2.08 ghx amd xp 3200+

    laptop:
    128mb shared video
    2gb memory
    2.00 ghz am turion 64

    got a couple questions

should i buy 1gb of ram for the desktop? making it 2,512 mb, then again its ddr1..

on both computers i set the process priority to either abovee normal or high..works a bit a faster..is this bad?

the desktop gives me the slowing down game message faster but it seems to run faster then the laptop because the laptop is on s-video (disppl not working)

does window mode(fulscreen) make it run faster?

i already turn off all the eye candy for the vista (desktop) n the windows 7 (laptop) n i possibly tweaked it to the most already for windows...

is vertical sync any good with the laptop i activated...

does it run faster with a disc? i havent tried running with a disc on the desktop..

i alreadu overclocked the desktop, i cant overclock the laptop...

what should i do? i had more quesionss but i cant rememr them at the moment... any help would be greatly appreciated thnx....

I responded to your tech support thread.

Your laptop can't run it. Your desktop should be able to on low but because of bugs a lot of people's computer's strangely run SCII slower than they should. Try upgrading drivers, etc.

Windowed mode normally always runs slower with any game except that SCII has some strange copy protection that might make windowed faster.

Make sure you don't overheat the desktop overclocking it, that could cause a performance hit as well.

Your sort of screwed. I have 6 computers, some duals some quads and some singles.

My Anthlon 64 venice core (3.2) (single cpu) does not run the game nearly as well as any of the duals. Its not the ram its the cpus, SC2 likes to have two processors. It has 2 gigs and a decent video card. The dual with a slower 8600GT is much smoother.

It will run it decently on a single but turn everything to low.

It runs fine with integrated graphics on a fast dual.

You might be able to tweak it a little, but it does not run that fast on either of my single cpus, intel P4 2.6 or A64 single core.

    Sorry.

first... how do you have 1791MB's of RAM? thats psychically impossible....
Second... DDR1 ram is probably so expensive its not even worth buying.

Your main issue is that God aweful X1300 that isnt playing SC2 for **** maybe lowest settings and 800x600 and thats a big maybe... Than coupled with the fact your AMD 3200+ isnt doing crap for you. The laptop may not be AS bad but again a integrated intel card isnt doing **** for you... If its not integrated Id take a wild guess that its a X300 express card which is even worse than the X1300.

So screw the RAM and save up for a rig that doesnt make baby jesus cry
(not trying to flame yah I just want you to full comprehend the severity of your bad situation)

@Goblin ...SC2 is not optimized for multiple logical cores... Yes his CPU's suck so does your venice core. Its the GPU's that are doing all the work. Well his arn't doing the work because they simply cant do it. Hes basically asking a kindergardener to do quantum mechanics... It just isn't happening lol
