    I'm having a lot of trouble when I need to greatly mix my unit composition and still micro them as a force. The need to combine sentry shield/wall, templar storms, feedback, blinks, etc.. but I can't find a good way to switch from unit-to-unit and execute everything.

    Often I either manage to waste my units ability in a vital situation or I cannot get my unit selected / execute my plan in time before the opponent focus fires and chooses to takes them out.

    Can anyone help me out here?

    I have the same problem as terran when I do anything else than MM + siege tanks (lol). But really, If I try to get alot of variation in my army, to counter specific units, it gets hard for me to use their abilities or even tell them what to attack, this is only in late game situations though, because I get 1-4 hotkeys free for my army. for example 1: marines 2:marauders 3: ghosts 4: siege tanks . But then I get vikings too, and battlecruisers, or a thor or two. And I can't control them quite properly :< So yeah I need some help here aswell before I decide to go for a 200/200 marine army :D

    Lets see. I use toss and I pretty always have almost every single unit in their tech tree in my army that I'm about to steamroll with, backed by 60 probes. (Usually without warp prisms, carriers, and archon :p).
    Ok so, What I do is this:
    Ground army -> Hotkey 1
    Templars -> Hotkey 3 (OMG SC2 IS SO EASY WITH SMART CAST LOOOOL)
    Air -> Hotkey 2
    Mothership -> Hotkey 4

    To get a certain unit, I either press "Tab" to cycle thru multiple unit types, or i ctrl+click in the ui.
    annoying, maybe, but still.

    btw its NOT a good idea to hotkey so many things in one hotkey, but im seriously way too lazy. and my apm isnt very high either >=d

    My four hotkeys for Terran and Protoss are like this:

    1- Marines, Marauders, Siege Tanks, Thors, Ghosts
    2- Medivacs, Vikings, Ravens, Battlecruisers
    3- Ghosts
    4- Ravens

    Sometimes I'll even just merge 1 and 2. If I need to attack with specific units I just double click them and go from there. If I need to stimpack and use abilities I just use tab.

    1- Zealots, Stalkers, Sentries, Immortals, Colossi, Archons
    2- Phoenixes, Void Rays, Carriers
    3- High Templar
    4- Dark Templar/Observer/Warp Prism/Mothership (whichever I need to)

    Again, sometimes I'll mix in 1 and 2 so I can use the extra hotkey for my harassment group or something. Basically, using skills is easy if you just put them in one group and tab through them. If you have certain designated spellcasters (ghosts, high templar, infestors), then you should just put them in their own group to make it easier.

    Meh, had the same problem but ive sorted it through repitition,

    1. Nexus
    2. Warpgates
    3. Probes
    4. Robo/stargate/forge
    5. Zealots / Senturies
    6. Stalkers / immortals / Senturies

    works pretty dam awsome i must say, allways have ure melle and ranged seprate hotkey'd, nothing worse than haveing 15 zealots sitting behind ure stalkers doing nothing.

    if you want to ure somthing like guardian shield, force field, or blink theres pretty simple commands using the hotkeys i suggested, blink for exmaple

    6 > Tab > b

    Guardian shield

    5 > G

    what ive been experimenting with lately is having say 2 senturies in my melle group 2 in my ranged group, but having them all on 1 hotkey, this works for force fielding.
