Im new but im rushed a lot and want to ask a few questions what rushes are there and how would you counter them? What build orders hint to the player that there rushing? And lastly how do you prevent a reaper rush they seem to wipe me out the fastest? (I play toss btw) :spinny: Il be grateful for any comments
Hi, Im kinda expereinced with counter rushes, dont know much about toss though. Rushes to counter: Reaper rush : Terran : Marines or marauder.. Zerg: Zerglings Protoss: Stalkers asap I guess, or alot of zealots with good micro. Probe rush: I have lost to this bs, he came right away, looking back I should have loaded probes to main center and build marines, instead attacking the shilede probes. Mothership rush: You should have an army for ths. IF you scouted and saw a mothership condtions or mother ship build . Terran : Battlecruiser/ viking (works for me) Protoss: My guess void rays. alot of them.
It depends on how early the rush comes. First of all you need to scout your opponent to see what is coming. If you are protoss and you scout a 7pool I would recommend completely walling off with 2 pylons and a forge and then get 2 cannons. From there you just go for void rays. The counter to void rays is pretty much Hydra which should take him some time to get since he went 7pool. If you play against a terran and you suspect a reaper rush just get early stalkers and keep them near the edges or near your minerals. If you play against a protoss and he goes for a zealot rush make sure you have a tight and long entrance where you keep 2-3 zealots on hold and have stalkers for support. It will take them some serious time to bust though that since they can only attack your zealot with one zealot at the time. I would probably use the same tactic against early roaches though im not sure because it hasnt happend to me yet . You could also replace the stalkers with cannons if you want to save gas for voidrays (thought this way its more obvious you will be coming with void rays). If you see a baneling bust coming what you want to do is spread out zealots infront of your wall (if you have one) and try to explode as many banelings as you can before they each your buildings. Dont keep your zealots close enough for them to damage several at once. An early marine+marauder push is harder. I think a wall of cannons at the ramp should hold them off while you go for voidrays. Another way is to get stalkers sentries and when half theire force is up the ramp you place a forcefield to split it and take out half at the time. Make sure your stalkers and sentries are far away enough so that the 2nd half of theire army cant reach your while you are pounding away at theire first half. If you just face it head on without any tricks I think you are screwed I just realised this tactic is probably better against an early roach attack aswell. Maybe some more experienced players care to comment.
