Hi my name is Pyro and I'm here to share my experiment with you I am a High Diamond level Zerg player and like to think that I have a pretty solid understanding of game of Starcraft. I felt very frustrated with my play. I would find myself in a situation, and I would know what I needed to do to win but was unable to because of my mistakes leading up to that point in the game. These mistakes were simple, but important, like not nailing injects, getting supply blocked, ext. So 2 weeks ago I decided to start a project based in the knowledge, If you repeat something enough times, you will master it. I asked my friend for his Silver account for this project, I felt as if I needed to start from scratch. The project was simple, follow 3 strict rules 1.) If base queens get over 50 energy, leave the game. 2.) If ever unintentional supply blocked, Leave the game. (-If an overlord dies, and I get supply blocked that way, doesn't count ) 3.) If failed to scout, Leave the game These 3 things are core aspects of my play that I feel the need to work on if I wish to advance. I am in my third week of playing, here are the results so far: Week 1 Day 1: Left 86% of my games Day 2: Left 82% of my games Day 3: Left 69% of my games Day 4: Left 50% of my games Day 5: Left 25% of my games Week 2 Day 1: Left 17% of my games Day 2: Left 13% of my games Day 3: Left 15% of my games (Reached Silver) Day 4: Left 18% of my games (Reached Gold) Week 3 Day 1: Left 20% of my games Day 2: Left 15% of my games I start Day 3 of week 3 Today you can watch me here http://www.own3d.tv/IPyro/live/332500 I play Starcraft 2 every day from 3pm-7:30/8ish Don't forget to follow if you like my stuff
I am assuming you don't have to work if you can reach gold from silver in a single day. Also why leave the game? What is the point of that? Why not finish it, and just make a note that you didn't do what you wanted to in that game?
It is a good idea, because no one wants to leave a game, but if you force yourself to leave a game if you make a mistake you will more likely try to not make the same mistake because it is annoying to have to leave a game. If you do not leave the game then go on to beat the enemy, it starts to feel like "I am doing good" even though you want to improve. Good strategy I like!
While you do make a valid point. let me continue. If you seem to be stuck at a certain point of the game. Like tier 2 or so. If you leave the game every time you make a mistake, you will miss out all of the experience in higher tiers. So when you finally get past where you were stuck, you have to do it all over again anyway with another tier. Which will take a lot more time to reach the skill level that you want to be at.
Most games don't stick to tier 1/1.5 for very long. It doesn't take me long to get to Colossi. Terran 111 doesn't take long either.
