BLOODLUST!!! must...kill......... story: Friend: Hey m8, what's up? Me: not much, pretty bored ¨/ Friend: ok, Friend: Can I borrow your account? Me: Well, I dunno, why? Friend: We got a new computer, and I'm gonna play vs. my brother, and we'we only got one account Me: But I'm under VAC-ban Friend: Doesn't matter Me: Ok then why not^^ Friend: Tyvm! Me: just gonna change the password Friend: ok Me: done, the password is "blablabla" (<== MISTAKE) Friend: Thank you! Me: np, as long as you give it back Friend: Ofc ^^ I logged out, with a feeling that I've made a mistake... I had... About twenty seconds later my other friend asks me (on msn) something like this: Friend: Hey, is that really´you on your steam acc? Me: No, it's Jacob (Friend no.1) Friend: Then why does he ask me if he can borrow my steam account? Then we asked him about name etc. And guess what? Some deuche logged in onto my friends acc and stole my acc -.- RAGE So, it ended up with my friend calling him things as a cünt, etc. and mentioned how "low-life" it was to steal other peoples accounts and similiar. He logged out. So, now I've sent an message to Steam (btw, is it against some agreement to lend/share accounts to friends? I left that out of the email just to be sure) and feel like I've got to take out my anger on something, but NOOOOO the games are in my steam account -.- so, lesson to all of you, do as it says in the top of the steam chat-box: " Never tell your password to anyone." not even a friend, it may be a spy... and right now I'm on a friends account, waiting for my account to come online....
I have to say that it was your own fault. That is why you never give any of your information to anyone. I'm sorry that you had to learn this the hard way.
I did, only seconds after he asked my 2nd friend. "I know my account name" **types in account name** "An e-mail containing verification code and a secret question have been sent to the adress you provided. Please check your e-mail, then enter the information below. Verification code: Secret answer: " this happened yesterday aswell, and since the ****tard changed email, I cant do it -.-
Did you perhaps buy a Steam game retail? I once had my Steam account jacked, but since I bought the Orange Box retail, I could send them a pic of the CD Key and BAM they fixed it for me. After 2 weeks.
2 weeks is better than never xD But seriously.. I wouldn't give out my username/pass of my WoW account even if jesus himself asked for it.
I've send the episode pack for hl2 with cd-key, acc name, support ticket. just hope I did it right >< it is the "ask a question" thingy, right?
You'd be a fool to tell Jesus anything. He's supposed to be omniscient, so if he's asking you for something you know he's up to no good. What surprises me about this story is that you didn't realise that the impostor wasn't your friend. I'da thought someone hacking a close friend, close enough to give such information to, would be fairly easy to recognise. I guess it can take you by surprise if you're not looking out for it, which noone but the most paranoid of people would be doing.
