Hey y'all. I'm asking for advice on the map "Big Game Hunters".
I'm going to be playing a small tournament today, probably a 2v2 or 3v3. I'm an intermediate player of the game, but I mainly play Lost Temple... I have absolutely no idea how to play BGH...
So, anyone got any tips? I consider my best race as Terrans and will probably be going for my usual Marine Drops at Mineral Spots... would this tactic work on this map? It works on Lost Temple fine, but I understand how terrain and different resources can drastically affect what tactics should be used.
So yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated. =D
    Thanks in advance, y'all!

    Water borders?
Hmm... I want to get an idea of the layout of the map...
Does anyone know what folder the map can be found?
I want to open it up in StarEdit and check it out.

in Big Game Hunters, most of the bodies of water that divide the bases are VERY NARROW
you can literally fire across the water from ur base into ur enemy's base using siege tank.
sometimes i tank push across the water, line my tanks along the edge of the water with wraiths as back up. then drop tanks on the other side of the water into the enemy's base.

Sometimes the water borders are so narrow that i can launch a nuke from my base to my enemy's base :D

Ok, so I just reccently started playing multiplayer, so obviously, I'm bad. So I'm asking if anyone here has any tips on a Terran/Protoss user (mostly Terran) such as myself. The help would be greatly appreaciated  :)

Hm... go to replays.net, and find yourself some nice pro replays. That will teach you the most popular unit combinations for all the match ups. Other than that, make sure you scout, after you learn every unit combination and possible counters, all you need to do is know which you're facing and build accordingly.

Make sure you build lots of workers. When you think you have too many, build a few more. Defend your workers over everything else. Your workers on your minerals are the heart of your base. They're easy to kill and cost a lot for the HP they have, so make them run away if anything serious attacks.

First off, what types of maps do you play? Money (Fastest, Zero Clutter, etc. etc.) or non-money (Blizzard maps and the like?)

If you play on a map with a choke point.. you gotta block it..

if someone sees that you arent blocking your choke point.. they will just attack you and go for your worker and ignore the rest.. this kind of attack will totally paralize you..

try to always be at zero mineral and zero vespene gas.. this means.. always use your ressources.. build units, build more buildings.. all the time.. when you attack, try to remember to build more units in ur buildings.. if you have a lot of ressources, explanding is a good idea.. and/or get more buildings that produce units.. to build more units..

hmm but.. don't you think this topic goes in starcraft 1 discussions?

I see you use terrans, micro micro micro. You cant get the best cost-profit margin using the terrans without appropiate mirco.

i am saying play them a few times. you will prob lose. who cares. at least you will learn how to exploit the weaknesses of the zerg so you can use that aginst any zerg player when you play terran or toss.

keep building SCVs. make lots and lots of SCVs. Once they are full on the minerals and gas at your main its time to be expanding. So keep making those SCVs.

I've officially made this my inquiry topic where I'm just gonna post my different strategy questions on here :p

One more thing, how do Protoss defend against Siege Tanks?
