I recently fully and correctly installed SC2 and also successfully downloaded the patch. But when i turn on the game the mouse icon is stuck in the middle though i can still move the real but invisible mouse around and wait until the button lights up to click on it. So even though my computer mouse works fine the SC2 mouse icon doesnt register or something with my computer mouse because it stays in the middle. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any helpful advice is appreciated
Mouse icon not working Yes, the same thing with me. Installed the game with a wireless mouse and have now tried a normal usb mouse, but still the same. Dying to play, but can't.
Hey guys, I had the same thing happen to me (I'm using the Logitech wireless MK300 keyboard/mouse). I found a slight workaround. Even though the mouse pointer does move, the actual invisible mouse cursor is still active behind the scenes. If you move the mouse around the screen you will eventually see the menu buttons light up as you pass over them. If you can, navigate to the options menu and change from full screen to windowed mode. The mouse pointer graphic worked for me in windowed mode and allowed me to play the game. Obviously not a true fix but at least it's something while we wait for a patch.
Me too !!!! What the hell? How can this happen? 4 years, 5, 6 years in the developement and we get that sort of problem? I dont know how they are organize, but in our industry of aviation, if this would happen, the pilot would take in is hand the joystick and by pushing the throttle, the toilet would fush instead of making the plane go foward !!
hey guys hope this fix works for you too: i had the same issue with the mouse and what i did is to work my way to options and i selected with my invisible mouse - display mode - Windowed (fullscreen) and now i can see my mouse icon. This is not a proper fix, but now i can move around the interface. Hope it works for you too.
Okay, I am doing some reading about this in the old beta forums. This issue isn't new. If you have a ATI Radeon card, try going into the CCC and disable Catylist AI. If any of you have enabled DPI scaling to make words appear larger on bigger screens, go back to default (you can additionally set this in compatibility for SC2 by right clicking on StarCraft II.exe, going to properties, compatibility tab, then put a check next too "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings." That way, it will just disable it while playing SC2. Let me know if any of these works for any of you! Most 3D games have this issue, but they normally have an option for a hardware or software cursor. I have finding no such option for SC2.
Wow, today I managed to accidentally cause this to happen on my buddies machine. The solution may work for others.. but if your using a large TV or a monitor at higher resolutions.. you will not like this solution. I caused the issue my increasing the DPI scaling to make fonts appear larger. I could not solve this solution my enabling "disable scaling on high DPI settings," I actually had to set it back to 100% and log out and back in... then I could see my mouse cursor. I want to know if anyone is having this issue on ATI cards, as i caused this on an nVidia card. If ATI cards have this same issue, then its a general Windows issue. If this solves the problem for some/all, I am going to post it as a solution in the FAQ. So people, its important, get back to me either way!!!
I had the same mouse problem with an ATI card, even when disabling AI in the CCC. The workaround of turning off DPI scaling does work though. I have other machines and confirm that anything except normal DPI will cause the issue.
Mother ****erssssssssss Hey blizzard wizzards!! Please fix this mother ****ing cancer bug!! I still can't move my mouse which i thought there was a problem with! Windowed fullscreen: Very good idea but it suckssss ! Cannot scroll to bottom because this mother ****ing toolbar is blocking it!! Also 20% of clicks will be ignored with windowed fullscreen ! I hope i meet this blizzard masters in real then i kill you mother ****erssssssss
Been playing the Game on my LCD TV since release, works fine... Changed my DPI settings to help out with font size and now this issue occurs. Changing the font size back and switching to window mode both resolve this. I am running this on a NVidia 9800 GX2 I guess maybe the main menu can't handle the new scaling, frustrating as the higher font size really helps with this screen.
i have the same prob with hd5770 and 10.9a ccc Catalyst AI didn't work for me. So i began a DPI trial and error and figured out 145% custom DPI works. I don't know if it's the same for you guys but 145% is pretty acceptable for my 54" already. (and i unchecked 'use xp scaling') hope this helps someone out there
That is interesting. I'll see if I can test that on an nVidia setup and see if it works for that too.
Yep, thread CPR. I did a full install, downloaded patches, and actually played a good 20-30 games, then this bug hit me as well. I've tried to check the box in Starcraft2.exe, tried adjusting the settings in the NVidia control panel, nothing. Really started to get into this game (first one I've liked in years), so if anyone has some advice, a work around, anything, I'd be very grateful.
