For those who play terran, how many have had fun trying out the nukes, and how much luck have people had with them? I've just started using terran after a 2 day losing streak with protoss on 2v2 and 3v3, and I love trying to nuke things now that they dont cost as much as they did in sc1.

Personally, my record with ghost kills is 83 kills using 2 nukes, though sadly my 3v3 team still lost in the longrun. Got the Unbreakable achievement with that ghost too :D

Back in the beta, my brother and I did a 2v2 (both as terran I think). Anyways, we were facing total noobs (but we were pretty scrub back then as well). This one guy had probably around 60 or more marines literally clumped in a ball inside his base. So my brother literally just waltz's in with a cloaked ghost and nukes the HELL out of all them.

    They didn't even move >__>

I would've felt bad for the guy if I wasn't laughing my *** off.

The Ghost literally waltzed in? Is this a hotkey I dunno about?
    :D

My record (in beta ofc) was somewhere around 40 iirc, against Zerg.

200/200 late game pop on 2v2 my ally completely destroys these dudes whole army with 1 nuke. Was like 60 hydras, and a crap load of other protoss units.

I think the best I've done was 40-land, spread over two strikes from the same Ghost. Mostly Hydralisks.

I wish nukes did more damage, they're too expensive otherwise. Thor do 500 with the strike cannons, nukes 300 and 200 to structures. Compare that to SC1 with 500 damage or 2/3s whichever is greater.

The nuke in sc2 is much cheaper in resources and supply, so ofc it will be less effective. Also, strike cannon only hits one unit, unless you have the single player upgrade, but that still only works for single player only.

It seems like the nuke falls much faster in SC2, anyone else notice this?

Yeah, its cheaper than in sc1 but not by much. And you're right about the thor hitting just one unit, but think how much easier it is to build a lot of thors than to build a lot of nukes.

The thing is, its a "nuke". And given the difficulty to get a ghost into range of a competent player who will have detectors, etc., I wish it did some real damage instead of just being a mineral line killer. I mean so far, its like you just grab your workers and send them away for a sec and maybe you lose a couple turrets.

I'd prefer it if they upped the hit time to 45 seconds or whatever and had it do more damage.
