Complex rally points: In some games, supreme commander for example, you can hold down the shift key and tell a building or unit to move to a certain point, using rally points to direct it in a very particular manner. Or telling a unit to attack something, when that target is dead, attack this next, assit this unit next or patrol this area next.. Will Sc2 have this feature? Multiple building rally points: I don't know of a game that can do this but for example, at a hatchery, you could have one rally point for only drones, another different rally point for only hydras and so forth? Different rally points for different units? Good idea? Upgrades: just like the first Sc will there only be 3 upgrades per ability, only 3 for weapons and only 3 for armor? Or will they make the limit higher? Just additional resources for each one obviously. Search and or destroy: Instead of or in addition to the patrol button, maybe they could add a button or two that makes units randomly scout outward and attack any enemy unit enemy within sight, or is this what patrol does?
1. Yes starcraft 2 will include that just like warcraft 3 did. It will be multiple commands, "rally points". 2. Yes it will, "At the current build" This is considered macro. Some people want starcraft 2 too be the new next step up with mutlitple building selection etc. Requiring less apm. Some people want the old feel. For me, I want it too have multiple building selection. And yes I "believe" if you have a few eggs, *5* and 3 are zerglings and 2 are hydras, you can shift click where you want them to go after they are finished building. Or it may be rally points from the hatchery. 3. Um, first off if your scouting, you dont want too attack them. Its simply easy for you too just send out a probe and scout the enemys base. There doesnt need to be a button for this.
Well for the search and destroy, I ment latter in the game when you just cleaning up and trying to find everything they have left.
Rally points, the first SC had it... Search and destroy, simply attack move to somewhere on the minimap.
What about auto mining? Rally point the command center to a mineral and the unit will automatically start mining when it is built.
1: Yes, wc3 had it and sc2 will have it. 2: NO. The hatchery only has rally points for drones and army units, which is fine. Dont remove all micro and make everything eassier or too complicated. I think is precisly what is not possible. 3: 3 upgrades are fine. 4: seek and destory -> see other posts.
What about warping units anywhere on the battle field. Is it so were ever a unit is it can be warping near pylon power. Or is it so that units can only transfer from one area of pylon power to another. Just imagine your in a battle and you realize you need to retreat and salvage your remaining units, Instead of running them back to your bass you can just teleport them strait there. Is this possible?
Oh well, it would have been nice to have rally points specific to one type of unit.. I always like having more upgrades for some reason...
Warp-in is a build mechanic, not a transport mechanic. You can't warp units around on Pylon power, though it was suspected to be the case before anyone actually played the game. At the moment, the Mothership does have a personal warping ability that allows her to move to Pylon power, but it takes energy to use. This mechanic is not related to warp-in.
So units that are being built from the gateway can appear anywhere on pylon power? And already built units can move inside the gate way and teleport anywhere? Because in the latest battle report the protoss teleported over 10 units into the zerg bass but only had 2 gateways!!!???
1. Yes 2. sadly no 3. are you sure? they didnt really showed all of his base, he could of had more gateways that couldnt be seen, and also the warp prism could of been carrying a few of the units.
I was under the impression that the Gateway had an upgrade to Warp Gate and that allowed it to warp infantry to anywhere under Pylon power. It was coupled with the Phase Prism's ability to emulate a Pylon's Psi Field. Or are those mechanics defunct now?
no, those are true, but some people keep getting the idea that you can somehow load an existing unit into the Warp Gate and then warp it, which is not the case.
Fenix that is still possible, but Neon was refering to the abillity to warp from pylonpower to pylonpower (without using warpgates).
