As some may know, there will be the release of the collectors edition along side the regular edition of Starcraft 2. One of the features of the collectors edition is, "a World of Warcraft® mini Thor in-game pet that can be applied to all World of Warcraft characters on a single Battle.net account."

So how many of you fellow WoW players out there will have this piece of machinery running next to you in game come late July/August and what do you think about it?

I think a diablo pet was given away at a blizzcon as well.

That's quite cool. However, I like the Gruntling and Zergling pets better. Haven't seen the Zergling in the game yet, though.

I wonder if you can sell it for 20 bucks just like that mount.
I mean, if blizzard can sell horses you should be able to sell your stuff too. AmIright?

That depends on how the Thor is delivered to people.
If it is an in-game code in the SC2 box the you can sell the code.
But if it's automatically added to your account somehow when you install SC2 then you can not sell it.

I actually dislike Blizzard handing out WoW pets in a StarCraft Collectors Edition. It's StarCraft you are buying, not WoW - I'd prefer some limited in-game thing for SCII.

Hand out WoW garbish with the WoW Collector Editions.
Same goes for D3, I wouldn't be surprised if you get an 'Barbarian' or something as a WoW pet.

Does it really matter? It's free stuff, and you also get extras in SC2/

Well if you consider amount of work (as we don't really have anything else to think in terms of) then that could've been put into some unique SC2 feature instead of a WoW something. The slightly redesigned thor does not cut it.

I don't even understand the concept to be honest. It's like giving a free can of shaving cream with your purchase of a loaf of bread.

    Exactly as kuvasz put it.

I'm almost inclined to say that I rather have the exact same Collectors Edition, with the WoW pet taken out. I mean you buy the Collectors Edition because you're a big fan of StarCraft, you just have to get that nifty SCII box, with the artbook, the DVD, music CD, SC1 usb thingy etc. and then..

..wtf is this WoW thing doing in my SC box ruining the exclusivity of a StarCraft Collectors Edition.

Blizzard is very proud of their MMO, they want to show that off. And they need to put something in the collectors edition, and they thought of this as well.

@Kuvasz, seeing as its in WoW's graphic system, it seems more probably that it took effort of the WoW team, than of the SCII team.

I was thinking without dividing Blizzard into games. The WoW team, seeing as how they must know a wee bit about things outside WoW as well (Bnet interface, sounds, avatars, nifty and hidden little things that could've augmented SC2, etc.) could've contributed to the game you buy with more than an addition to a game that you might not even have (and in fact I dare say the majority of Collector's Edition owners will never have), if you really wanted to make other departments involved.

I doubt the same people work on modelling as on those things you mentioned.

I doubt that implementing a new pet only needs modelling.
