How do you think that will look, getting bigger or looking more powerful as it shoots more at its target?

Take a good look at the animation on the official website article on the warp ray it does have an effect of sorts.

If you watch closely you can see more beams activate as it fires longer

I had heard the beam wasn't correctly increasing in size for the animation for the unit. I'm not sure about this, I just remember hearing it and I can't find my source.

I'm assuming they've fixed the problem since there are videos of it firing.... But it's interesting that they had a problem with it. Must mean the rendering is tough.

It did get a little brighter and a little bigger but it wasn't all that noticeable but you could clearly see it started out with one beam from the petals then two then three all convergin in the middle

There is a change in the firing animation of the Warp Ray, but I think that it's too insignificant for many people to notice. I think it should be made a bit flashier just so people can recognize just how much damage their units are taking/dealing, since it's difficult to tell now unless you're watching closely.

Then again, if it's TOO flashy then people would watch the beam instead of their own units... :p

Yea, I think it would look rather tacky if the beam suddenly went from blue to orange and then to red. Kinda weird.

But I agree that there needs to be some sort of change that would at least allow you to know that it's time to try to pull that unit away from attack.

Does anyone whether if you pull a unit out of range of the Warp Ray and then back into range whether the attack starts over again? Also, can the Warp Ray fire while "moving"?

yeah something like that, but perhaps its starts with a little bluer blue, and ends up with an almost white blue.
@Joneagle. The warpray has a really good range(dont know if its longer that static defences tho) so going with marines(much shorter range too) back and forth just to reset the ray would actually make you loose MORE units, because fast, low hp units like rines(not saying SUPERfast)wont live to see the final stages of the ray, so its better to just attack with em. And, the ray´s main purpose is to destroy slooow capitol ships and alike, and buildings of course, so enemys moving back and forth is unlikely.

Sorry mate, I think Blizzard wins this fight of graphics rendering mightiness.

But you do come a close second ;)

Lol definitely. We should ask ArchLimit if he'd be willing to try his hand. But I don't know if he would be up for it what with school clamping down on his leg like a rabid pit bull.
