Hey, so, if any of you have Mac, and a Spore fans and don't have Lepard, this thread is worth reading.

So, as you may or may not know, the Spore creature Creator demo came out on the 21st of June
    (http://www.spore.com/trial?sourceid=eaom35)

Anyway, it requires Leopard, which is annoying for folk like me who don't have it. My Computer could run it were it not for this little problem.
Anyway, i googled around, and found out that you could switch some code in the installation script and it would run fine.
"show contents of package" -> 'Contents' -> 'Resources' -> open 'tgInstall.plist' as a .txt document and edit:

    <key>MinimumSystemVersion</key>
    <string>10.5.3</string>

    to:

    <key>MinimumSystemVersion</key>
    <string>10.4.11</string>

save it, and presto chango, you win.

    Now, heres the problem.
Its read only, and I can't save the file, delete it, or replace it.

PS: Don't worry, when I buy the game I will upgrade and pay and do it all legit like.

Does anyone out there know how to change read only files to read & write?

    It would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Chax

    Hey there dude.

I think that the post you read was honestly a lie. It's not that simple to just change one line in the code, or so that's my belief.

As for your problem, I myself have a Mac and I believe you can just simply right click and you'll be able to setup whether it can be R or RW.

    Hope this helped =)

It is easy. Just + I the file in question, scroll down till you see the file's sharing and permissions, and change to read and write (may need to enter your administrator password).

Question: Why don't you upgrade to Leopard? It is well worth it!

    Mac and PC

OK, now you said something very stupid. First of all, we are not discussing Mac vs PC, we are simply discussing how to write on a read only file, so I don;t know where did your comment come from... Second of all, Macs "run the internet" as well as a PC, with the advantage of being immune to virii and spyware/addware and the like...
