    Hi Everyone,

I am considering buying the digital copy of SC2. I have 2 computers, a macbook pro and a desktop running win 7.

I am curious if I buy the digital copy, if I can install SC2 on both and then have my settings transfer automatically from one to the other. Thus, when I'm traveling I can use the MBP, and when I get home I use my desktop and just continue wherever I left off.

Or is it the case I need to buy one for windows and one for mac?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can download and install the clients on both, provided that they meet the games requirements. Since you plan on installing both, I'd recommend a store bought copy if possible, since the disc will work on both Mac and PC and save you lots of time download twice. If you do get the digital copy, download it on the Mac first, then copy it to the PC and run the Windows blizzard downloader again (if needed to get Windows installer files), using this method will save you a lot of time downloading files you already have. This way the file permissions will be set correctly on the Mac.

As for the game settings, your multiplayer will copy fine as will your achievements while logged on. All of that data is stored in your battle.net account. As for your campaign save... I really don't know. Those file sit on your computer, and I am not sure about the compatibility between the Mac and PC files (I'd wager they are compatible).

    Hi,

Thanks for the response. That makes my life much simpler. At my house, I have a linux server running pretty much all the time. I'll set the file to download while I'm gone over a weekend. When I get back, I'll just pull the file to my win7 box over my home network. 6 gigs should take about 15-20 minutes over my lan so no worries.

    Thank you for your help!

Good, listen.. if your going to download the SC2 client on the Linux server.... there is something you will want to be aware of. Read this thread before installing on Mac! You shouldn't have a problem using chmod...
