Sounds i like: Siege tank shots - very powerful and high tech and accurate, very solid. They've chaged it since the terran demo, LOVE IT! Colossus and Warp Ray shots - very futuristic, and damaging Stalkers - everything is just so slick about them i love it Battlecruiser - same think, powerful, brief, rough, just what the BC is is about Nydus worm pop up - amazing Corruptors - attack and sounds the way it should to fit his role SCV mining - very gentle and cool Queen stabbing sounds really cool Sounds i dislike: Marine attack - its just too soft, needs to be a little rougher, its a heavy gauss rifle after all The zerg attacking - very poor, thats all i have to say, i prefer the old one(SC1) by far. Infestor infestation - sounds like rain, i dont really like it for some reason. Zealot attack - its not that i dont like it, its just that its too gentle compared to the grunting of zealots and the blade clash they had in sc1 Non-existant sounds: Lurker Hydralisk Thats all i have so far
Marine shots sound nice but their death sounds are awful and way too loud. I agree with the Nydus worm popup, you can actually hear that a solid ground was ripped open, very nice. Queen attack has a sound that implies that the claws are very sharp, and I like it. I don't agree with you on the Stalker but I can't quite express what I don't like about them.
Marine death sound would fit the Infested Marines better. SCV's sound like cats being corrupted when they die. I've never heard the Stalker sounds. Zealot attack indeed looks and sounds weak. They run like little girls too...
Actually I like the small sound of the Zerglings attack. In the new demo when they fight against zealots than withdraw, that sound is funny
Yeah. They sound so cute when they run all around. ^^ The Zerglings in SC2 is cute compared to the SC1 Zerglings.
I agree, I hate the death sounds of the marine and I hope they don't use cowboy/western voices too much in the came for terrans... "YEEHAWW!!" doesn't fancy my pickle when controlling a war. Yes the Hydralisk needs a sound/missle animation. I remember watching the video and the BC just suddenly died And of course, the highly wanted zealot grunting sounds. i take back my opposition of the fighting animation, but I STILL would love grunts from zealots.
Logically speaking, the Marine's attack should hardly have a sound at all. As you said, they use gauss rifles, which use electromagnets to accelerate the bullet, so it won't have the explosive sound of a normal gun. I assume you mean the Zerglings, not all the Zerg in general. The Zergling's attack sound be heard in the in-game footage for the Mutalisk on the official website, and I gotta say, I like it. It sounds much creepier than the StarCraft1 sound. The StarCraft1 sound just sounded like them hitting something, which wasn't very spectacular. The new one is much creepier like an eerie ripping or squelching, that suit them well. It's not the Infestor's attack sounds that sucks, it's the Infestor in general. Its model, attack animation, and attack sound are all awful, which is a shame because the concept behind it is so good. I haven't really heard the Zealots attack sound, but I felt that the snorting in StarCraft1 was a bit excessive. The blades shouldn't really make a clashing sound either, as they don't really hit anything, they just burn through it. Where did everyone hear most of these sounds?
ItzaHexGor: I guess you're right about the marines, although i still feel its not the appropriate sound for the attack or the death of marines, The infestor does indeed need some revamps.
Sounds for Zergs are amazing. When the Zerglings attack its like a group of hyenas using their vocals to intimidate their prey. @ DKutrovsky. I agree with you that the Marines should get a powerful sounding attack, but I'm just saying it's understandable if they don't.
OMG it sounds like a 6 year old girl.. I think the SCV death sound wasn't good in SC too, so I got used to this
They're not going to change the Marine sounds back to the StarCraft1 sounds. What's the point of making a sequel if you just use stuff from the original?
Yeah, why don't we just scrap all of the old units that were in the first part! They are old and crappy! I personnaly have no problem with Blizzard using old sounds. It is even logical to use them in this case, since the marines still use the same weapons. The sound could use some polishing if they use the exact same sound file from the old game, though.
A lot of the Zerg units/buildings use the same sounds from SC1 already, but those are prolly just placeholders.
I like all the Marine sounds except for the gunfire. It does not sound as powerful as the SC1 Gauss Rifle. The Mutalisk noise could be more harsh, but I like the sound right now. The SCV death needs to be less little girly and more explodey.
Heh yes, and I am really curious about what will left from Zerg units after they die.. Only the blood wouldn't be enough fun But having their pieces thrown away is weird.. Also The Zerg death sounds are nice so far.
