There are a load of games out there, some really fun and could deserve some recognition.
I've made threads about some before, but I feel there should be a thread for multiple unpopular games.

If you know of any games that are amazingly fun, yet not well known, post them here!

Here are my interests/owned games I recommend trying. I'll post more later, I don't want to put too many in 1 post.

    ----PC Games----
    1) Aion online - A new Korean MMO with high expectations, currently in beta for US. No it's not free. I don't have it yet, but it looks really interesting.

    2) Killing Floor - A new online zombie game made by the creators of Red Orchestra. I own it and I recommend trying it, I happen to think it's absolutely fun. L4D fans may like it, I have both and I lean towards Killing Floor more.

    3) Red Orchestra - Realistic online WWII game. You can have your gun shot of of your hand, there is no cross hair, in fact putting tape in the middle of your screen won't work since in real life, your hands are never that steady. Red Orchestra 2 is being developed now, so the community had a small burst recently. Steam also supports multiple mods for this game.

Old Sega games like Alisia Dragoon, Strider, Greendog and Revenge of Shinobi. One of the bosses in Revenge of Shinobi actually turns to Spiderman when you have beat him enough :D. Those games are just amazing. Now I feel like playing them again...
Too bad that the sound system doesn't work on my Sega, I hear just sputter.

    Edit: Heres spiderman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzh7kMcuDYY
Seems like there's first spiderman, then somehing that me and my sister called Dracula. In that video the "Dracula" is Batman and the description says that it was a "Bat monster" in later versions.

Hmmm. I would say Baten Kaitos for gamecube is kinda an less known under appreciated rpg game that is actually a pretty solid game with a unique battle-system. I'll try to explain it as best I can. Basically you do actions by playing cards from your deck and you customize what cards are in it and each turn you get a hand to choose from out the deck you have made for a character. Your characters level up and you find new cards as you progress and there is some startgey deciding what mix of cards you want for each characters deck etc.

Here is a quick video showcasing the battle system

Actually, yes it is the same person. I just looked it up to check. I've never played Eternal Sonata though. It was also developed by the same people who did Baten Kaitos as well.

Seriously. How many games today let you sink your opponent's entire village, or turn it into mountain area?

Chrono Trigger is not really a lesser known or under appreciated game though, probably the complete opposite. So a bit off-topic.

This one isn't more so "Lesser Known" but more "Misunderstood".

My friend forced me to play a trial with him of EVE online and I couldn't stand it it. It was just way too slow paced and complicated for me.
