Something was slipped into the editor that apparently no one noticed...the editor has a feature enabled whereby you can convert ANY map from Starcraft, Broodwar or either of the Warcraft III games into a re-purposed SC2 custom map!! Check it out. :)

Oddly, not a troll. Blizzard did totally sneak in a feature they said they weren't going to add. Sadly, it may not work correctly yet (it failed on the one map I attempted- only getting the minerals but no terrain).

    ....WOW that's actually pretty awesome.

but i wonder how it does against the crazy modded maps made with the other map editors like SCMDraft or whatever.

As far as I can tell it can't even handle maps made in the vanilla editor. It kinda guesses at the height values, fails at the textures, then completely fails to do anything with the cliffs.

sell that kinda sucks. SC1 did have some weird terrain though, like in "jungle" there were half-height hills, as well as hills on top of cliffs, or 2nd-level cliffs. i think SC2 only has one level of cliffs.

It may be far more well implemented in the retail release.

Well thats interesting I don't know how you could possibly translate warcraft 3 units and maps to sc 2 tho. And of course since Prodigal posted I figured he was out trollin again.

Bah, you all should have more faith in humanity.
The feature sounds epic, but if wc3 is convertible, would that mean that the editors contains all wc3 units?(or maybe it just loans them if you also have wc3 installed)

Everyone already knows this. Unless the relative knowledge on this forum is severely lacking, this topic was unnecessary.

That's obvious and I've said that for years but, if this is true, this is fail on a whole other level.
