Hi there. Despite the fact that I'm in my late 30s I'm just starting playing videogames (when I find time for them) ! I'm already making attempts with Warcraft III and Civilization IV but I also want to try starcraft II. Since it isn't out yet I purchased a digital copy of the oroginal Starcraft from Blizzard. However there is no manual (there is a manual.pdf file, but it just contains legal and copyright info). Is there some place where I can find it ? On a side note, does Blizzard haver any official forums ? Of course this one is cool. Thanks.
First, Welcome to the Forums! You should make a thread in our introduction section. As for your questions, this should help a bit. I hope you enjoy playing SC as much as we do!
Hrm. I believe on the Battle.Net site there isn't a manual, but it does give a lot of tips and tricks for Starcraft. And I know Blizzard has their own forums, but I'd have to scavenge their site for a few seconds to find it for you. Also, wazzap and make yourself at home.
There is an official forum, but it is overrun with trolls (forums.battle.net i think). As for a manual, blizzard has an online version of sorts here with unit and strategy information. Welcome to the forums
Actualli I found one on replacementdocs.com Yes, the battle.net forums are HORRIBLE. This one is a lot better with good people on it.
This should help you... http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=12454627968&sid=3000 Beginners Guide to Starcraft. Can't go wrong there!!
I seem to remember the starcraft manual I got with my copy was pretty useless as far as giving anything besides just the basic tech trees and descriptions of units that weren't really accurate. I think it even talked about a couple mechanics that had been removed from the game before release. I'd recommend just checking out the other stuff people have linked instead.
This is extremely late but as my mama always says better late than sorry. Welcome and enjoy our beloved forums.... Even though your probably lurkering or not even on anymore.
