Okay so I've come to the last choice in research for the Zerg and I don't know which one to pick. The choices are Hive Mind Emulator and Psi Disruptor. Both seem good but I fear the Emulator might have a long recharger time. Wonder if I could get some opinions. Thanks =)
I went for the disruptor on normal and I will choose that again on hard because 1 Zerg unit is useless in the fray. That said, I never built any disruptors I bet it would've made my last mission easier. It'll come in handy for that 1-time-use achievement though.
The Hive Mind Emulator is pretty much useless. Mind controlling an Ultralisk might buy you some time on the battlefield, but pretty much anything else is a waste of energy. Mind controlling a Drone is probably almost as pointless, because if you manage to do you will A) not be able to use it due to lack of space/resources or B) are probably winning the mission by a landslide already. Psi Disruptors are the better bet since they're more of a "set and forget" structure, but I don't think they'd be worth the resources on Hard difficulty. I set up a network of Psi Disruptors during the "All In" mission and I had to rebuild them every thirty seconds on Normal difficulty, along with the four or five bunkers defending each (note that I did "Shatter the Sky" beforehand, so I was getting swamped by Nydus Worms).
Ummm on any difficulty other than brutal, the slow effect one is better, on brutal, definitely want the mind control one, especially on the last mission dealing with enemy broodlords if you chose to take down the nydus worms.
