Seeing as I will be going IT in the navy I will need something that can deal with Starcraft 2 and anything on the go, and after searching around for a little while I finally found something I think will suit what I'm looking for.

Pound for pound the Asus Republic of Gamers G73Jh labtop seems to be for its price the best I could come up with.

    Processor: 1.6GHz Intel Core i7-720QM
    Memory: 8GB RAM
    Storage: 1TB hard drive (2x 500 gigs)
    Optical Drive: DVD±RW
Screen: 17.3 inches (1,920x1,080 native resolution)
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 (1GB)
    Weight: 7.4 pounds
    Dimensions (HWD): 2.2x16.3x12.6 inches
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

    price tag: 1,500.00-1,600.00
I may also go with the main as a 80 gig ssd instead of the 500 for a extra 235 dollars and run the operating system and games/demanding programs on it and just leave everything else for the secondary.
Also comes with a bag and a razor gaming mouse which is pretty cool

Compared it to alienwares/top brands and beats them out of the park in terms of cost.
Only downside is the battery life.

I think liquid cooling would add too much weight to it lol.

Those four cores are going to CHEW up your battery life too imo.

Well, I can tell you, that laptop is gonna own :)

Try and see if you can upgrade the battery to a 9-cell instead.

i don't think there's much point in upgrading the battery, a 17" laptop isn't the kind of thing you'd carry around much. it might be the kind of thing you can take on vacation and leave in your hotel room, but it's so huge and heavy you won't want to be carrying it all day.
