    Hey all,

I'm a big SC fan and am very glad to finally see SC2 coming to life tho I have doubt...

I own a Compaq Presario CQ60 Laptop, which it a problem cause i have a feeling it wont have the graphics to play SC2, I looked it up and found that the graphics is, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD - which is onboard... not sure how good that is relating to GeForce 7000, which is requirments to run SC2. Please can someone compair the 2 and let me know if you have an idea if i will be able to play it.

Also got the requirements from beta... so hoping when SC2 is released it will be shaved down a litle...

    Cheers,
    Scott.

Sorry, those onboard graphics simply won't be able to handle it..

The 3dmark06 score for that chip is about 500.

The 3dmark06 score for my laptop's chip is about 10,000, for instance, but I can run SC2 on all Ultra.

Now my old gaming computer from 2005 scores about 3000 on 3dmark06, and it can BARELY play SC2 on all minimum settings - high action scenes the fps would drop to less than 20, hardly even playable.

I literally could NOT micro on that computer - it would slow down too much. Anything over 40 APM would just be counterintuitive. So a chip scoring 500 pretty likely will NOT work at ALL.

    Sorry.

Hey, there's a slight chance they'll optimize it crazy this month.. don't let you're hopes down 100%.
Although it's looking pretty bad to be honest.

You can always upgrade to a video card if you scrape up some spare cash :).

intel graphics = automatic fail. unless blizzard manages to shave SC2's video requirements down to SC1 or something, you shouldn't even try to play the game with an intel GMA.

Guys, can I ask you for opinion whether my laptop runs SC2 or not?

    My spec:

    OS: Windows 7
    Proc: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz
    System Memory (GB): 2GB
Video Card Model: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

What are the chances that I will be able to play SC2 with multiplayer sensible fps?

8600M should be able to run the game, but i wouldn't aim for higher than medium.

How about a desktop with an Nvidia 7100?

Likewise, does anyone know if the specs for this machine would be enough?:

    Intel® Core™ i5-430M processor
    4GB DDR3 1066MHz memory
    1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 360M

Looking to buy a new laptop but I don't want to get one that can't play the game.

    Thanks!

the 360M is essentially a renamed 260M, which should be powerful enough to run medium to high.

the nvidia 7100, however, is both old and low end. don't count on it.

    Hey guys,

So I just bought a Macbook a few months ago and the specs match all the "recommend" specs on the Blizzard webpage for Mac's except the video card. The Video card is still better then the "minimal" specs on Blizzard's site, but not quite the "recommend" specs. Will SC2 still run good, or am I going to have problems?

probably not, unfortunately. the nvidia's 9- series and 8-series are nearly the same, and a 9400 only performs slightly better than an 8400... and is definitely slower than an 8600.
