Hey there. I recently bought sc2 with little hopes of being able to play it. I pretty much bought my computer 6 years ago and didn't add anything besides 1GB of ram. I know my computers terrible but I just want to know what i can add to be able to play on medium settings without lag at all.

    Heres what I know o-O

    Dell Dimension E510

    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00 GHz 2.99GHz
    RAM: 1.5GB
    System: 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate
    VideoCard: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series

Should I just buy a new computer?

My computer isn't much better than that, I play lowest settings. It says it can't handle medium but it can't. 4v4 is unplayable and 3v3 can get rough but 2v2 is usually okay as is 1v1. I mean your comp is definitely above the minimum.

I had this stuttering bug for a while that I think some people get and think is lag, but I reset my bios and it went away for the most part.

I mean, Its okay for the most part on low. But when theres 40+ units on screen, I get like 1 fps.

    i added a gtx 465 & 8 gigs of ddr2, i have a triple core phenom 2.8 and i still lag at big unit 2v2's.

the only bottleneck is my processors, short of 3.0ghz you are really asking for problems, if i had it to do all over again i would have just bought a new machine, i still might.

If not. Should I just buy an alienware computer, because that seems like the simplest way.

    Build your own.

You can probably build a halfway decent quad core Athalon system for around $600.

From what I've heard / read SC2 is mostly CPU dependent.
