Keyboard hotkeys don't work in game

My keyboard doesn't work in game anymore. I can use the function keys, ie I can press f10 and the menu comes up, but hotkeys don't work, I can't create unit groups, etc. I can also chat to other people while on bnet, so my keyboard definitely is working and the game should be picking it up. This problem only came up a few days ago as well, before it was working perfectly fine.

Any solutions?

1. Is the keyboard wireless?
2. Is the keyboard PS/2 or USB?
3. Is shift or caps lock turned on?
4. What hotkey configuration are you using in game?
5. What is the make and model of your keyboard?

Sure thing. I'm using a wireless keyboard, Logitech MK700, which connects wirelessly through USB. I'm playing the game through my laptop, and my laptop keyboard doesnt work either. My hotkey settings are the standard, I tried switching to the other ones to see if they work and they didn't. I also just reinstalled my game and the keyboard still doesn't work. caps and shift definitely not on. i'm going to try reinstalling my keyboard drivers right now, but it's highly unlikely that it'll fix it considering that my laptop keyboard doesn't work either.

 

I'm having the exact same problem. It worked fine since I got the game up until about a week ago. I even e-mailed support and they said to run the repair tool. Needless to say, it didn't work. Somebody please help jjain and I.

 

I'm having a similar problem too. I have a lenovo laptop and it just started recently. I actually tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and the keyboard worked after, but when i quit the game and tried to play it again, it didn't work again.

I'm in the same exact same boat. I have a Lenovo G555, could be that our laptops suck.

 

I actually just received an email reply from blizzard tech support and all you have to do is right click starcraft 2 and "run as administrator" and it should work fine. i just tried it and it works.

this is the exact email i got
"Sounds like this is a driver issue with the keyboard, combined with a Windows permissions error. Right click the Starcraft II icon and run the game as administrator. "

 

That's funny, because my laptop is also a Lenovo G555. It definitely is that our laptops suck haha.
