UPDATE: Cydra gives details about Temporal Rift.

Source: Temporal Rift/Time Bomb vs. Bullets, Lasers
    Original post:

Do not be deceived by the thread title. It started with a small question, but the amount of info that he gave us was much larger than expected. Names have been changed, weapons have been altered, and abilities have been moved around. All of this is primarily centered around the Protoss.

    EDIT: lol, here? http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10029

How can someone expect anyone to see it in there? The last place I would imagine seeing an update is in a thread that complains about the lack of updates. One can take that even further and point out that see the title "lack of updates?" on the front page doesn't exactly scream "HEY BLUE JUST DISHED OUT SOME INFO!!!" if you know what I mean. I even scanned the forum titles to see if this had been posted, and not even one of those threads suggested that this had been posted. I even noticed that the thread where we had been posting updates had been locked.

I'm sorry if I'm still at a fault here, but imo the only way someone looking for info is gonna see info is if it is splashed up front with it's own title.

The obelisk likely still has proton charge, the other abilities were changed to give it more competition for energy.

Phase Shift puts a unit out of the game -- like Arbiter's Stasis Field -- but it only affects a single target at a time and does not prevent the unit from moving around. In fact, from what we last heard, the unit can actually move through other units/buildings.

I miss lockdown, but at least it'll still be in the game files. It's probably my single favorite skill in StarCraft to design around when I'm making encounters for RP/puzzle maps.

so why was lockdown removed in the first place? It was a very useful skill in SC1 and prehaps too imbalanced with cheap ghosts.

Shield battery... IS BACK! **** YEAH!

Outrageously good updates. Although the part about the colossus din't make much sense to me when the original question was about a unit relying more on hit points rather than shield regeneration, which wasn't addressed at all by Karune.

I dont understand what the fuss is.

You can change all this in the editor. Who gives a crap about names? :/

The vast majority of the people who will play it will never go near the editor. It's actually quite important to give units good names because it gives a good default first impression. And as I said, for the majority of the people it won't be just first impression, but what they'll see whenever they play. Besides, changing names doesn't hinder development at all, so why not toss around ideas now to see what the testers, developers, and the community think about them?

Im all for updates. Im all for making THAT portion of the community happy. I just wish they would extend the same gesture to our portion of the community and give us some information on the map editor, or what we consider interesting information.

We have had 0 screenshots of the new editor... And QnA batches are always filled with questions about the editor which are provided by people who had no experience with wc3's editor.. They're ill informed, irrelevant, and badly picked. Im just tired of their community relations ONLY conforming to the 'pro' gamer responses when there is so, so, much more capable in starcraft 2.

Ok, great info.. Collossi seem to have had a power upgrade, since the last time I checked it was worth nothing.
Im not sure about the shield battery.. Actually, Im not entirely certain which abilities does it has, but if it were a merge between a pylon and a SB, It would be used a LOT (although toss would get unbeatable on their bases :S)

Now, answering to renatus... Yes, I know there has been little to zero info on the maped, and although I would love to know more about it as a map maker myself, most of the people are more interested on the design of the single/multiplayer game itself than the huge universe that comes hidden within.
It kinda makes sense in the way that most people buys the actual game, without thinking on the infinite capabilites that comes with a maped.

God, talking about this makes me want to check out the editor D:
