    MAP OVERVIEW IMAGE:

    Map Size: 96x64
    Map Tileset: Jungle
    Number of Players: Five

    STATUS: 100% Complete

    DESCRIPTION:
    ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
In KaBoom! you are playing as one of five KaBoomers! who have to work together to get past 15 levels of varying difficulty and obstacles. You are equipped with a KaBoom Box! which contains all your bombs and makes possible the creation of much more complicated bombs. In order to achieve total victory, you must avoid enemies who are constantly tracking you down and the much more unexpected explosions of fellow KaBoomers!

Just know that the more KaBoomers! there are, the more the danger and fun is experienced.

    GAMEPLAY DETAILS:
    ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
As a KaBoomer!, you start off with a stock set (10) of KaBombs that just blow up after a one second timed fuse. These starter bombs will be essential as they are the most readily available ones around! For every starter bomb you use, you lose one bomb from your bomb counter (Vespene Gas) and with Zero bombs in your inventory, you cannot lay any more starter bombs until you replenish your bomb inventory. On the other hand, you may use other special bombs acquired throughout the game but they are only temporary (one time use) and appear less frequently then their starter variants.

If a KaBoomer! is lost by being touched by an enemy or killed by friendly fire, the KaBoomer! will lose all of his or her KaBomb inventory (Vespene Gas set to 0) and can only be revived by having an ally touch the dead KaBoomer's coffin. Do not despair because revived KaBoomers! receive 5 free bombs upon revival.

WARNING: As with all material that is either chemically or energetically unstable, please handle with caution.

Count me in for testing to if thats all right, I would love to play one of your maps and see how good you are at map making. Plus it sounds like fun, dodging enemies and getting killed by your own team :p

When I get a working multi-player version up, we can test it out then and there. Also I am thinking of removing the Warp Bomb due to some complications in the triggering that I really do not feel like going back to. It may or may not be removed. Since one bomb may or may not be removed, I am working on another type.

    I WANNA TEST! *sobs*

    bomb suggestion:
tracking bomb :: once layed, it will randomly choose an enemy to follow around. if the enemy can avoid it for a certain amount of time, the bomb will explode where it is, even if it hasnt caught the enemy.

Hopefully by Friday (it would most likely be a Thursday for some of you), I will have a multi-player version ready. I have a habit of taking my time on making maps... and searching for them (ask tweak... LOL!)

And yes SC144000, it is a Spider Mine :)

I have a few suggestion for this fun map:
    1. A team bomb reloader bonus item, that gives all players 2 or 3 extra bombs. It is a team game right?

    2. An official list of commands or phrases, so you can signal to the other players what you're trying to do, so you can make ambushes at the spawning point and stuff... Mostly for the fun factor...

    3. Can you make it so that you get an extra bomb or two when you play 1-2 players? Or spawn a few more bomb reloads? ssjfox and I found out that it's very easy to run out of bombs...

Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the suggestions Ximnipot. In it's current state, the map is in its beta phase and some (or all) of your suggestions may be implemented.

    1. It is possible for me to give teammates extra bombs for every bomb pack loaded by an individual, however I would like to keep a sense of "resource management" in the game. That is the reason I made the bombs amount finite -- It is very important that your bomb's go off at just the right time and are placed at just the right part of the grid.

    2. Roger that!

    3. I have beaten several levels by myself using what was available, but I guess in the fast paced action I could allow the rates for the respawn to be faster. Right now, the time it takes to get "reload bombs" is based on how fast the Barracks reaches it's end point.

Any and all comments/feedback is welcome! Thanks again and I will be sure to make the game as much fun as possible.

    1. Well, that's why I suggested you made it a special bonus item and not a feature of the regular bomb reload packs.

    3. I'm just looking for a small bonus or a little shorter time between item spawns. And I think you have played it many more times then I or ssjfox has...

    4. I had a new idea while I was out shopping just now. If you are going to add sounds to your map, my suggestion would be to take them from the goblin sappers in Warcraft 2. They have two lines that would fit very nice: "We've got explosives" and "Kabooom!" Using both would make the map about 30kb larger.

    1. Ah! I see what you mean now. I will see what I can do about it. The map has already been developed practically all the way through and it will be hard to seek out triggers that are connected via DCs or switches.

    3. Again, I will see what I can do with this. It's possible but that means more triggers and more triggers means bigger filesize.

    4. Hmm... looks like I will have to go delving through the internets for the Goblin Sapper wavs. I may use them... depends.

I would like to know; Is it better to have the flag appear right where the player died or is it a lot easier to have the flag spawn in center?

I could just mail them to you... Or I could get a new web page somewhere but I'm not really in the mood for that now that my old site dissapeared...

Flag spawn in the center is much better from a team-work perspective. It's easier to see how many have died and to bring them back.

Edit: Found the files for you :)

I have imported the WAV into a test version and it sounds hilarious! I have also managed to compress it to a 16-bit file so that StarCraft compresses it. Right now with the Kabooom! WAV file, the map's size tops off at 65.3 KB.

I have also made another item that distributes three KaBombs to you and your allies. It is called a KaBomb Share! and it will be as common as the Extra Kabombs! items.

After working on this, I have decided that I will make a VS. Edition after I fully release this one. It looks like it will be great fun, however it will be limited to only four players.

Okay! I have finally finished this map! Everything seems to be working fine but I will play test with a few others to ensure that no glitches remain!

Some interesting updates I have made to the map:

    - Enemy units now separate and trail other players when close enough.
    - Nuclear KaBomb has been finalized.
    - Improved Item Spawns.
    - Special Bombs now appear on Level 2 as opposed to Level 4.
    - Pause Game (Effect) allows players to think up a strategy and execute it.

I have not released the map yet although it has been finalized. I will be releasing a download link as soon as my DNS servers for my own personal site set in.
