    It's actually like a radio-magnetic image of the sun through a filter....I'll use your explanation though.

    I was under the impression that the evil ball WAS a magnetic image of the sun.

    On another note here is a strange coincidence.  the Astronomy Picture of the Day happens to be one of the sun.
