Hey everyone! I have been experiencing really stupid things with battle.net and SC2. When I try to login with my e-mail and pw, the game usually just sits there with the login button grayed out, as if it were loading something (but nothing usually happens). Other times, it won't even let me enter my password, telling me that it is trying to connect to battle.net or my internet is down. If it goes to the next screen with my account info and character picture, which it rarely does, it will often show a blank box were the picture should be and not display the information. When I press the button to continue here, it does absolutely nothing. When these problems don't occur and I actually log into battle.net, usually nothing loads in the menus. The menus are blank and it says there are no games found when I go to multiplayer. Only in rare occasions will everything work properly. I had no issues with downloading patches or installing the game at all. I don't know what the problem is but I tried adding the ports in my firewall, refreshing my IP, and even turning off my firewall but nothing helps at all. The game just works when it feels like it. Read the thread "Starcaft 2 requires a patch"? and see if any of the information apply to you. Or try the DNS settings trick I talked about in my FAQ (direct instructions here). See if any of that helps you first.
I have no problems with the patch and I've even tried some things listed in that thread but nothing helped me. No changes from the DNS and the FAQ doesn't apply to my problems. I've got no clue what to do now. Windows 7 64bit 9gb DDR3 RAM Intel (R) Core i7 CPU, 920 @ 2.67GHZ 1GB Radeon HD 5770 Dunno about HD but its 1TB
Are you behind a routor or on a campus/university network? I had this issue (and I was unable to fix it). I was at a public library's network and I could get the machine to patch but it would not log into battle.net because the ports were closed on the router.
It seems everything is fine now! (I think lol) I think all I had to do was update my router's firmware, which I think was a few years old.... I think people should try this if you have similar connection problems.
well, i have similar problem. when i open the game, there says to log into battle.net account. i logged in and my game shuts down and nothing happens. I added the game when i bought it, and when i looked at the games i added 30 min later, it says i didnt add any game. I tried to add it again and an error ocurred saying the game key was already used by someone. Any help?
Wait for it to update.But your game shutting down would indicate hardware or software problem on your end, not on Blizzard's. Go troubleshooting with the readme and Google.
when i log in, it doesnt even ask me for password. It shows the tab, that is logging into battle.net. And when its finished, it shuts down
Because your progress is logged online. I would reinstall the game, making sure you have and give privileges to all users of the computer. Not asking for a password is really weird. And troubleshooting is just carefully choosing keywords that you search for on Google. In this case, no password, shut down, etc. I've never had any issues with the game so I can't help.
i reinstalled the game and nothing is different.why do i have to log in battle.net acc if i want to play campaign?
It's not the patch and I don't have a dl link since I autoupdated. In addition, I'm not sure exactly how this problem is realised so a few screenshots might help.
if i print screen and i paste it in paint, the picture is black. I changed the options ( graphics, resoulution,...) everything to low and now it doesnt shut down, it says its waiting response from battle.net acc and a few moments later, it shuts down and its patching again
