Is this for real? [no]

Okay so while I was taking a look at the video contest winners videos on youtube, I noticed some of the related videos that youtube shows. One of them claimed that, and I quote:
"Blizzard have accidently released the StarCraft II Beta Signups!
This tool was on their website for around 15 minutes before they noticed and took it down again, but the program itself still works!
Get the beta before anyone else!"

After that description it shows a link to download what he shows in the video. In the video it shows him double clicking an icon that has the word beta in it, typing in his Battle.net information then says he's entered into beta. Several people have left comments claiming they got emails telling them they are part of beta after doing this but I am still skeptical. So I was wondering if this is old news and I some how missed it, is this a hoax, or what?

Sounds very phishy. You're giving away your battle.net username and password.

I'm sure blizzard would use a far more accessible website than an obscure program anyways.

Also, note how the .exe uses the oldest version of the old SC icon... Seriously, why would it do that?

 

Yeah Callex I was wondering about that comment and I was confused by how the guy who put the video responded. So I was wondering if that comment was written by a person like me who didn't trust it and just wrote something down saying yeah right. I will admit though that I didn't notice the older SC icon. I'm going to assume this is a hoax until someone with a good rep on this site can say it's real.

 

Anyone unable to comprehend how simple it is to terminate a network related process should not be using the internet to begin with.

 

Anyone who f ing does this doesnt have a brain too actually click on the acounts that say that, there all connected to him, have the favorite videos and such. Same comments too.

You type in your Bnet account name and password and it sends the info to the one who made that fake program.

I've seen this before with "WoW Gamecard Key Generator" too.

For the lols, I entered a few fake emails and passwords for them to suck on.

 

Spot on. Fill in that form and there goes your B.net account. I'm impressed by the guy that did it, but i disagree with it and everything it stands for.

 

it's neat and orderly...but you can tell if Blizz makes something or not

besides its a week old if it was real dont you think boards, websites, blogs, YOUTUBE, would be filled with all us nerds going crazy and vids popping up everywhere

 

It's a scam. Don't fall for it.

 

I think Lobsterlegs is right. I took a look at the people who wrote comments on that video and the people who claimed it work all have a video on their account saying "enter your info get [blank] for free. So yeah this is just a fake that it looks like about 2 people have fallen for it. Sigh this is almost as bad as finding torrents that claim to be Starcraft 3.

 

There's no question about it. This is a common scam trick.

Just look at infomercials where they get a bunch of paid no-names to say their product is great.
