Is there any one multiplayer map from the original starcraft that you can't wait to play in #2? The only classic I've we've seen make its return thus far is Lost Temple, and I've yet to see anyone really use the ledges like you could in the original (ohhh the siege tanks). I think the given for a lot of people will be Big Game Hunters, so try to avoid that one if you can.

For me, it was the Meat Grinder on FFA. It was 96x96 (second smallest square map). 8 players could play. If you maxed it out there was only one expansion, on a raised island in the middle of the map. It was NOT unlimited resources at any base. The main bases were staggered two to each side of the map (2 on top, 2 on right, 2 on left, 2 on bottom). The bases were separated by a line of water on each side, but the back of your base was open to your neighbor on the closest other wall (ie if you were on the top of the left wall the back of your base was open to the person on the left of the top wall). This is a link to a picture of the map, but I've included the heavy detail prior to this in case the mods deem the link against the rules and pull it (be nice mods :) ).... http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Meatgrinder

Me and I think 5 buddies or sometimes 6 would play this map on FFA. It was incredibly fun. You would think there'd be a lot of rushing on such a small map, but really almost no one did because there were so many other foes who could just rush you after you rushed someone else. You had such limited resources that it became a battle of micro, expansion, and strategy. You couldn't spam ANYTHING because you would run out of money in a heart beat. Since we didn't have the full 8 players the randomness over where the empty main bases would be added some random luck (which often times ended up not helping those lucky enough to spawn next to them). It would be an all out brawl to gain control of the island in the middle. It was really really fun and I can't wait to do it on the new game... I'll make the map myself if I have too.

Wheel of War would be total chaos with all the added mobility in Starcraft 2. I'd play it. ^^

Totally cliche, but it was my favourite map: Big Game Hunters.

yeah some maps with no choke point would be interesting, it would completely change the game

Couldn't agree more! Why is there not one single map with no chokes, just one map where bases are in the open? Would really necessitate alternative strategies and builds.

They had a bunch of maps like that in the original (with no choke). One that immediately comes to mind is the killing fields.

But on the original Bnet play, most players tended to stick to maps that had a ramp or a choke point, especially in ladder matches. Blizzard probably saw this and adjusted their maps to it. I wouldn't be surprised if you see a lot of maps with no chokes though once the actual game comes out.

    Custom Maps

Love to see how the new tower defense maps will look.

Always preferred the custom maps instead of the player vs player maps.
