Is there more to single player mode?

i have not played starcraft before. but picking up this new edition is amazing! i have one question.. in single player mode... do we still get to play as the protoss and zerg like in the first edition?

unfortunately, no only one campaign

 

The Zerg and Protoss aren't going to be available in a campaign mode until Heart of the Swarm (Zerg) and Legacy of the Void (Protoss).

 

sooo theres going to be expansion packs? if im understanding correctly

 

Yes, instead of 9-10 missions for each race like in the first game there are 29 missions for terran then about the same number for the other 2 races in their respective expansions.

 

Please note that there is 4 missions where you play as Zeratul, the Protoss leader.
So you also get to play some Protoss in the terran campaign.
