...or do the people playing starcraft have no respect? It seems like barely anyone has any courtesy or they are somehow too busy to type "good luck have fun" or "good game". Don't get me wrong, i've played with some nice people, but it sure seems like the community could use a little common courtesy. One guy I played only said anything at the end of the game after he beat me and his words were "you suck." After I told him how "I appreciate your positive words about my gameplay." he told me how "the people here are laughing at how bad you suck." (Whatever that means haha) To sum it up, seems to me like a lot people are so focused on the game or their ranking to show a little respect. What do you guys think? Am I overreacting or do other people feel this? Or am I preaching to the choir?
little kids. starcraft is over 10 years old... people who are still playing these days are probably pushing 20 years old, or older. SC2 is going to a lot of newbies. and i mean newbies to life.
I can't stand when people start a match with "gl hf". Out of politeness, I do reply with a simply "u2" ... but I don't really care, I doubt the other player does either. I'm here to play a game not throw mindless pleasantness at my opponent. As long as the other person isn''t calling me a noob for using 3M or a *** because I have Dark Templars in his base and he doesn't have detection; I'm happy with that.
I see what you are saying Bloodhawk, but I generally try and mean what I say as all I'm looking for is to have fun and improve.
I never say gl hf, but having said that I never call someone "sh*t" or a "noob" no matter what tactic theyve used. I've copped a fair amount of sh*t after winning matches from the enemy players.
ah, anonymity. the internet practically proves that, deep down inside, everyone is just an asshole being held back by society's disapproval.
Or it's just the internet is telling the n=modern society there is an alternative to actually going out to meet people in the real world. Cause real workd people do not stand for bad manners, And people stand up for their rights. But on the internet it's so easy to just be rude and go "hehehe" cause you know the person on the other end can not slap you one for acting like an ***. People are always rude over the internet cause they gat away with it punishment free. If their SC2 game refused to log in for 60 mins after they were rude then they'd think twice. It's like any criminal. it's not the doing wrong that bothers them. It's the getting caught and punished for ti they don't like. So in short we need to punish rude people on the internet. Then they'd never do it again .
