We haven't heard anything about this yet in Starcraft 2 (haven't seen any units so far.. except ghosts!)
Personally, I've always hated them! They are really annoying and hope they are kept to a minimum. I'm assuming there will be at least one invis unit per race though.

I never liked cloaked units either (I never build detectors) but I agree, there will probably be one more cloaked unit per race (burrow unit for zerg, though).

You never build missile turrets, cannons, or overlords?! Can I play against you on b.net? ;D

Well, they already have the Nydus Worm, but I don't think that's a combat unit....From it's name I think a mobile Nydus Canal (DUH), and they have Ghosts. I'm sure they'd be riots if they removed Dark Templars. Beyond that.....

Na, cause Zeratul is a key player in this. Instead of Aldaris and Tassadar, it's Artanis and Zeratul. He has a grudge with Duran, remember? And imagine how 'toss fans would react?

Zeratul will most likely discover the secrets of Duran and the hybrid.....given the fact the protoss knew the Xel'Naga created them AND the zerg.....

We haven't seen any dark templar at all really except for the dark templar immortals.

I think they'll be in the game.

yea...but can blink really replace the ability to be invisible?
also...I was thinking that with the whole blink thing, there will be no such thing as a medic wall or a pylon wall...my strategies will have to change.

The videos were played from the Protoss perspective, so if there were Dark Templar, you would have seen them. The description of the Stalker is that they are Dark Templar that have chosen to fuse their bodies with a machine to help their race- it certainly doesn't mean that all Dark Templar have made this transformation. It would be like saying that because there are Archons- Templar that have chosen to sacrifice their bodies for the Protoss race, High Templar would not exist. You might want to note that this is not the case.

Exactly. I think the Stalker is basically a Dark Templar Dragoon, in that injured warriors are put in them.

I don't think they're injured warriors, they're more like, Archons, where somebody had to sacrifice their regular body to make them, except you get the unit without actually having to transform a Dark Templar. It is just understood that that transformation has taken place beforehand.

Just like mounted archer in WC3?

I hope that they will have the Dark Templar who will use this Stalkers! They cant just quit the Dark Templar.. They are important for the story line!

    The Stalker looks awsome though;)

And that's what makes this a sequel, not an expansion pack ;D

Dragoons are definitely gone, replaced by Immortals. And I think we're all forgetting that we have yet to see the new Terran and Zerg units - just because we've seen a lot of new Protoss doesn't mean we have to lose a lot of new Protoss. We've gained Immortals and Colossus, lost Dragoons. We've gained Mothership, Phoenix and I can't remember the other one, we've most likely lost Carriers and Scouts. This would mean, in general, that Protoss has gained five and lost three. If they do the same for the Zerg and Terran, I see no reason to lose the Dark Templar. Plus, they're pretty integral to the storyline.

^ Yes the dark templars are part of protoss's history and integrated into the story, they can't just pull them out

They might pull them out and leave them in the story but not as a playable character...
