    does getting free internet applications for dsl, dial up or cable even work? cause I have gotten this program called cdot and I'm wanting to know if I'm making good use of my time or just wasting it.

    i think hes asking about connection optimization or speed boost programs...

    which no they aren't rly worth it because most ISP cap your connection at the modem or even the pole, so you can try seeing if theres a mod for your specific modem, but its unlikely..

    It is also quite illegal to mod your modem to where the cap speed of your ISP no longer exists. Which is also known as hacking a modem. So I suggest that you don't try to mod your modem in any way that increases your cap speed.

    Because the modem is the property of the ISP.

    And any ISP that caps the connection in the modem is a nub and deserves to be loopholed.

    Technically, you can buy your own modem. I sell 'em.

    But modding it like THAT is illegal. It's like modding your cable box to get more channels than what you pay for.
