sup guys, hows sc2? i bought sc2 game, went home, install game, at 42% it stopped loading, 5minutes later, it says something about error code 5 and it says my sc2 cd is dirty or cracked or w/e... but i just bought it its new. i kept restarting and reinstalling but it wont work.. any ideas whats going on? i want to dl from cd, dling from online takes 15hours for me. damn blizzard kill my cd. i used my friends sc2 cd to install and it went well. but my cd is messed up do you guys think i can like return it for a new one or something? the cd i bought have no use
So you installed off your friend's CD? That's not really a tech support issue for us. You'll need to contact Blizzard support about the issue, or try taking the CD back to GameStop or wherever you ordered from. I doubt that'll help though. I'd recommend trying Blizzard support they will likely send you a new CD.
Actually, they probably will. Usually, store policies state they don't issue refunds for video games, etc, but they will issue a replacement of the same item in case it's faulty. Should save the OP some postage.
i had the same issue so i got a replacement disc today and then got the same error. The installer was unable to read the file "Repack-MPQ\fileset.enUS#Campaigns#Liberty.SC2Campaign#enUS.SC2Assets\Assets\Textures\cinematic_bettermarine.ogv". This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at D:\--for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the installer. (The error code was 5.) If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (ReadJob::Execute) although the file that it was unable to read last time was a different one, it was some pdf file. totally boggled :S
hey guys, just copy all the files of the disk to a new folder and eun the installer, that fix the problem. Good luck
Blizzard Tech Support doesn't answer the phone. I called Blizzard Tech Support at least 10 times now and the wait is incredible. I am calling from Asia and twice i waited over half an hour and they still won't pick up. I have spent more money calling Tech Support line than 2-3 boxes of Starcraft 2. They don't answer the Tech Support line do they?!??!!? I can't install past 51% but i don't get any error message. I tried to copy all content of the CD to the PC but it literally takes forever, more than 24 hours to copy, does that sound right? Please help! I am sorry I didn't post this into an existing thread, please pardon me, I really don't know how to do it...i spent some time playing around the website and only figured out how to post new thread. HELP!!!! I paid US$75 for game and shipping plus US$100 for phone call to wait in the line for tech support but still can't play the game!
