Hey everyone, first post here, but I just picked up SC2 today after hearing some pretty good reviews from friends, and keep getting the error 5, around 51% complete that my disk could be scratched or dirty. I just bought it literally 30 minutes ago. Any help? thanks. P.S I'm running Vista with a Compaq DC7600 (Don't judge) with 2 gigs of ram and a 3.2 Ghz processor.
First Solution This error is usually from a damaged or corrupted disk. It may be salvageable another way. Try copying the disk files and folders into a separate folder located on the computer. Then install from there with the "Run as Administrator" option. It should install correctly now. Good luck, and let me know if this helps.
