    Hey,

If you purchased the game online, then it it already attached to your account and you do not need the actual key. I'll look at the dxdiag and get back to you. Do you have the exact error you were getting, a screencap or something? Use print screen or alt+printscreen to take the screenshot, paste it into paint and save as a jpg.

    Questions:

    1. What virus scanner are you using? If none, download and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

    2. Are you trying to install to c:\program files\StarCraft II? With your free space you should install to your D: drive. On top of installing to D: drive, you should free at least 4-6GB's of free space on your C: drive, so you have enough space for page file.

If freeing space on the C: drive isn't a real option, you could use a tool like Partition Wizard to repartition your hard drives. Its free and works great. Just make sure you run chkdsk on both partitions first to make sure they are healthy.

After freeing the space up, I would then use PerfectDisk to first delete temp files, then perform offline and online defrags of both drives (I would only online defrag each partition one at a time).

Found a bunch of updated drivers too. You'll need at least the videodriver, maybe the audio to even play StarCraft II after its installed.

You have a Asus C90S. The following drivers are for Windows XP 32-bit.

Newest nVidia drivers. Yours are from 2007.

Newest Realtek audio drivers. Yours are from 2007.

Newest Intel chipset drivers. Yours are from 2008 (so only a year older then the newest).

Intel Driver Update Utility. Will tell you what all Intel drivers are all outdated.

Newest Marvell Yukon Driver. Yours are from 2007.

Hey, sorry I wasnt very clear. The problem is actually quite simple and I dont think the jpg would explain it at all.

As I install the game, its stops at 8% and it immediately asks me to insert the disc into the hard drive to continue to the installation. Of course, I dont have a disc so Im forced to cancel it.

Then I get the code 5 error because I canceled.

Its weired, please tell me any solutions you come up with.

I'll begin to update my various drivers. However, I do have doubts that they will have any effect on the problem.

    1.) I do have a virus scanner

2.) Im installing it into D already.

Now that I've posted my situation to clarify the situation, is there any more additional recommendations you have?

If you downloaded the game to your C: drive, you may have ran out of space before the downloader finished. It's also possible that my last post on freeing space on drive see, could help. The game will always default attempt to install to Drive C: unless you change the installation folder.

Locate the folder of the install files. If its on the C drive, it may not have finished downloading. If that is the case...

Re-download the download program from Battle.net, move your already downloaded install files to D:, then run the downloader and save to the folder on D:. This will verify what you have and possible continue the download (the downloader is pretty much just a bittorrent client).

Thats a great point you make there. There is a good chance that I might have only 8% of the complete file since I did dl it into C.

Thanks a lot, I'll keep you posted on my progress and thanks for all the driver updates.
